Almost every time he throws a right hand he spins his arm in the air. What's up with this? Why has no one corrected him on this nonsense?

I dunno. I've never watched Santa Cruz. Basically, every time Joshua throws a single right hand he'll pull his arm back in a big arc over his head. It's amateur as fcuk and will get him in trouble against a good counter puncher.Comment

It's a bad habit that a lot of boxers do.
Andre Berto used to do it constantly.
I've even noticed Mayweather do it in the past, rarely though.
Joshua seems to do it a lot, I agree.Comment

He often returns his straight right to cover the right ride of his head, which is a defensive measure against the counter left hook. It's loose and could be tightened up but I think it's better than most heavies who don't protect at all.Comment
