That might be correct. But, even if he said there were no allegations, he might be correct in the sense that the article says levels were high and the board needed to discuss that w/ the Furies. Seems to be typical of these situations where they flag for potential violation and give the athlete a chance to explain if there's a legit reason before declaring it an actual violation. In other words, they may have not alleged cheating yet, since they're waiting on an explanation.

In MMA this happens monthly and it's always reported that a fighter was "flagged for potential violation", but details are kept under wraps until the fighter is able to respond and the test deemed the result of a violation.

Like I said, the difference is that Thompson had already been banned and the ban had expired by the time the story came out, but Fury still hasn't been punished in any way 15 months after this alleged test took place.

In cycling a failed test gets made public immidiately as it should be IMO. Then the cyclist can request the b-sample tested and the proces continues from there. If the b-test is positive as well, the cyclist gets sanctioned effective immidiately. Eventual appeal proces takes place while the rider is banned.

Do you have a source that says he hasnt been punished? Can you say for certain that it is not because the info hasnt been revealed yet? Seriously we are guessing here. Still I would say, that if there was no substance to this story then surely UKAD or BBBoC would have come forward denying the story by now.

Team Fury have denied any allegation of cheating and say they are baffled by the story. There isn't much else they can say at the moment.

One thing I'm sure about though ... if this was a cut and dried case of Tyson and Hughie being caught taking out taking steroids, we would have heard something about it long before now.

The punishment for steroid abuse would have been a ban, and he obviously hasn't been banned, or he couldn't have fought Wlad!

The wlad fight was not in the UK. Still this could be the Thompson route.

So you're saying The Mirror made this story up?

Or is it ***ish media agenda?
