He didn't fail to make it weight he didn't even try and negotiated it at 155 because it was a NON TITLE fight. If he can't make it then why did he just sign on for a title fight at 154? And what will be your excuse if he makes weight? You still going to call him a middleweight or will you be man enough to admit if he can make 154 then he is a jr middleweight?

Well If Ward accepted the first challenge way back then he could have had GGG at 168 but he opted to turn it down and fight guys like Rodriquez.
Canelo doesn't have any right to demand it at 155lbs its not a real division time this ***** stops picking on smaller guys and shot past it guys.

He's 25 and can still make 154 so why the F does he need to move up to 160 just because GGG and his dumb fans say so? Meanwhile GGG is 34 and refuse to move up or down a single pound to make better fights. Trinidad cut tons of weight for years to make 147 and didn't move until he was 28 but really you sitting here bashing Canelo who is 25 for not jumping to 160? SMH
Trinidad also only stayed at 154 for a year before moving to 160.

As for Canelo "can still make 154"...maybe he can, and we'll see how easily he makes that weight and for how long he can.

Canelo brought this criticism on himself by fighting at catchweights.

600k PPVs sold the most in 2016 and the second most only to Canelo's previous fight of 900k sold is a bust over the last year? Other then Floyd/Pac in last May, Canelo owns the 2 highest PPVs sold in the last year and a half outselling both May/Berto, Pac/Bradley and damn sure the flop master GGG when he fought Lemeiux. Canelo/Khan did 4X the PPVs what GGG's PPV did and drew a 7.4m live gate off ticket sales. ALMOST 4X the live gate from GGG.

            Wrong.

Former junior middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez knew ahead of time that he would not be able to make the 154-pound weight limit for Saturday night's showdown with Mexican countryman Alfredo Angulo at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, so an increase was negotiated ahead of Friday's weigh in.

No he brought this criticism by agreeing to Cotto's demand that the 160 strap be on the line in their fight. Cotto used it for negotiation leverage and it hurt both guys. That I agree on. If Cotto vacated the belt after he beat Sergio and fought Canelo his next fight instead of the Top Rank/Roc Nation drama and fighting a voluntary fight against Geale then Cotto and Canelo would neither of had that belt or it be on the line in their fight and nobody is talking either as being Middleweights when both clearly aren't. Dumping the belt and going back to 154 will fix a lot of that.

Anything to refuse to admit the truth the man ain't no mother ***ing middleweight. I understand that kills the entire narrative you people have for why it's Canelo's obligation to go to 160 for the first time and fight GGG, even though GGG at 34 has refused to EVER move up or down to another weight to fight someone. Or the fact Canelo is the bigger star with the better resume and if anyone needs to go to the other man's weight it's GGG. Kind of like GGG told Ward I'm the A side so the fight will only happen at my catchweight demand.
I think he doesn't have to fight ggg, specially when he dropped the mw belt, but they are better jmw out there than mr. smith, andrade, charlos even Lara, so I do have a problem with his selection

No that's not a direct quote from anyone that's Dan Rafael trying interpret the reason you fool. Here is a quote from his promoter

"Both guys agreed to change the weight to 155. If it would have been a title fight I think Canelo would have made 154. But it's not and everybody is happy with the arrangement that was made."

Point is Canelo didn't miss weight. He negotiated a 1 pound increase early in the week because it was a non title fight.

Again, wrong. the "600k" for Khanelo wasn't substantiated by anyone except for Oscar's dreams. Virtually everyone (multiple links in article) agrees that 460k is the avg figure.

And Canelo doesn't own ****. Cotto-Canelo drew 900k, NOT Canelo. And giving Ginger credit for Floyd? Joke.

Canelo owns a 350K PPV with Lara (while making 6m, which was great) and a 460K PPV with Khan (while making 15-20m, which was a huge flop).
