Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum - in disparaging the potential match-up between Alvarez and WBO 154-pound titlist Liam Smith - stated that no discussions had taken place for Manny Pacquiao to face Canelo. Pacquiao is now rumored to be facing Adrien Broner on a date in October.
