Well at least we know it's gonna be in September of 2017. I'm going to this fight, I just wish they had an idea where it will be held...I'm guessing either T mobile arena or In Dallas stadium...

Canelo can't even take any tough fights until then. I'm guessing it's Liam smith, then Curtis Stevens in May....

GGG should fight Saunders and Eubanks or Jacobs in the meantime...get that last title...

It doesnt, i think is the simple answer. Boxing fan demographic in the US has an average age of 55+ iirc

        "He isn't ready"
Give props to UFC fans they never make excuses like this, you're either good enough or you're not, It doesn't take a bunch of nothing fights to get you ready for the big time you're either of that caliber or you're not.

You would never see the UFC champion or top guy being allowed to have 3 bum fights, Eubank Jr is clearly a very talented fighter and you don't know much about him.
Please show anywhere in my post where I said he wasn't ready or that he should fight nobodies. I'll wait...

I said he hasn't fought anyone above domestic level and when he did he lost, he's still a PROSPECT!! You were trying to give GGG props like this would be a hard fight when he'll be fighting an unproven world level fighter. Eubanks talent has nothing to do with the fact that he hasn't fought and beat anyone above domestic level.

Eubank is talented and I like him, but it is what it is man. I don't pretend with fighters like you seem to do.

HBO needs to be held accountable here as well. How do they allow this? This means every GGG and Canelo fight between now and Fall 2017 will be BS tune ups against bums that have no chance to win.

we should have had that fight already. interim fights against chilemba and brand do nothing to make it bigger

nor will interim fights vs the likes of liam smith and BJS do a thing to make GGG-canelo bigger than it is right now

all it is is an excuse to artificially prolong the easy money train

Yeah, I can't imagine there is new boxing fans. The current fans are dying off or have started tuning out. The rest of the world sees it for the joke it is. The long time fans like us are the only idiots who would be foolish enough to keep following this farce. Anytime I'm out and have mentioned I watch boxing I get strange looks as if I announced I watch anime **** all day.

GGG could fight anyone in his weight class and that would be the case honestly....

Canelo could easily lose at 154... He's the one who better steer clear of Andrade,Lara,Big Charlo,etc.... Liam smith and Stevens-Lemieux winner looks likely to me...

Boxing is a blip to HBO. They have bigger issues like vinyl tanking and using up a lot of funds. You've been watching a long time, too. I know you've noticed how it's changed over the years. It's whole approach to boxing is much different than it was even a decade ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they remove themselves all together and just do big PPV fights.
