HBO has always been ahead of Showtime in ratings. Yet Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Shane Mosley, Canelo Alvarez, Winky Wright, and many many others have switched between Showtime and HBO to get big fights. Arum and Don King were never loyal to a network. They went to where the money was. Right now the money is with Showtime. They're willing to pay for the big fights. Why shouldn't GGG do it? What's his plan? Fighting bums until he hopefully gets Canelo next year when he's 35? Is Canelo the end game? What ideas do you have? What I'm proposing is not unusual. It's been done plenty of times.
Should GGG start looking at other options/networks?

Showtime is now the triple a's compared to PBC/HBO . If they wanted Golovkin to fight for them to help there viewer count they would have to shell out a ton of money leaving little room for proper opponents can you understand that you're speaking past tense . I just gave you a list and Im willing to bet my left nut GGG will move up in weight after winning the lineal.Comment

Why is BJS showtime possibility? That's a fight that can get made on any network if he is willing to fight. Let's not get silly here. It's the same thing with any Brit fighter, regardless of Haymons involvement.Comment

I explained it in my other post to you but you didn't reply to it.Comment

Imo, once his contract with HBO is up, he should'nt sign a network deal at all. Its one of the things that kills boxing as it just adds another layer of political BS on top of a skysc****r of BS that already exists. He should just make fights wherever the opponent/money is at. That said, I don't even know what his current deal is. I think he signed an extension sometime around the Murray fight, but no clue on its fight commitment.HBO has always been ahead of Showtime in ratings. I replied to the one you replied to lol
But either way, it doesn't matter. GGG has wiped the floor with every relevant middleweight of his gen, barring Sturm who obviously didn't want the fight.
All he has left now is the young guns in BJS, Eubank and possibly the likes of Jacobs. Those fights can get made on HBO, especially the 2 Brits.
I have no idea why GGG would leave such a cushy deal for showtime.Comment

They haven't been able to get the BJS fight made and GGG is going to fight on a Matchroom card with HBO buying the rights to show the fight. Jacobs is not going to HBO for cheap. They're going to have to pay to get one of PBC's main stars on their network and that's reasonable IMO. I also think that's why you don't see Loeffler pushing the WBA for to make the fight a mandatory. They've settled for Eubank because they know they can't afford Jacobs and if it goes to purse bid they'll lose or have to vacate. People have been talking about Jacobs not wanting the fight but since Canelo gave up the belt I haven't heard anything from GGG's side about Jacobs either. In that interview Steve Kim asked Loeffer about Lara and he said Lara folks never contactd him. That's cool. But he didn't ask him about Jacobs and the WBA.I replied to the one you replied to lol

And like I said before. Many fighters before GGG have left HBO for Showtime to make fights happen, including Canelo. I don't know why Canelo would leave now. He's the one with the cushy deal. He isn't forced to fight anyone and HBO pay for all of his fights. Meanwhile the champ has to travel overseas to fight on a Matchroom card. Who really has the cushy deal?Comment

He isn't going to get any Canelo fight because Oscar isn't risking his biggest money maker no matter what BS he says about Canelo fighting GGG in 2017. He is trying to save face and make it appear he doesn't fear GGG. He is just stalling and 2017 will come and go with no Canelo vs GGG fight in my opinion. GGG has a willing victim in Eubanks. He should take that fight next. He can score another spectacular KO of Eubanks and then go from there. He doesn't have to try and make huge money waiting on a Canelo fight that most likely will never happen. He can make good money fighting the best middleweights who WILL fight him and his reputation and earning power will continue to grow with each new KO victory.Comment

GGG's problem is not the network he fights on but instead the promoter and manager he is signed with. They have given him horrible advise and got his fans fooled blaming others yet his promoter has been complicit at every step. GGG wasted 2 years agreeing to step aside after step aside praying for fights with Cotto and Canelo. And now they telling GGG wait 1 more year. So he best case has WASTED 3 years of his prime. And his promoter ain't upset at all releasing statements saying we are better off fighting Canelo a year from now. Please tell me do you think Top Rank, Golden Boy, Haymon would let ANYONE treat their top fighter in their stable like this? And counter not getting these fights by fighting bums like Wade and Monroe? It's been clear for YEARS that he will not get a big pay day fight at 160 which is hot garbage. Any top promoter would of told him you need to move up or down to get that fight.Comment
