It's probably because wins don't lead to anything big in the PBC arena. Takes years if at all. Jacobs vs Quillin is quickly forgotten, for example. No fight scheduled yet for the champ. The other Danny, Garcia, doesn't have any fight scheduled yet as well. There's no continuity. It's like watching most movies with no sequels.

Few thoughts:
1). The delays killed a lot of the hype for this fight. It seems like we've been waiting forever for this. Initially, when the fight was announced, everyone was excited. It died down a ton because it's taken so long.
2). Where is the promotion? If not for me going onto NSB and r/boxing, I wouldn't even know about it.
3). Truth is, neither are big names. Keith Thurman has a chance to become one of the bigger names, but probably never a star. Likewise with Showtime Shawn...he's about as big as he will get.
With that said, I can't wait to watch it!

It's a shame but that's the way things are in New Mexico. UFC is big news to the media. Important boxing matches often get no coverage at all here.

So nobody saw them on ESPN first take this morning? Nobody watched the all access show? Nobody heard they just opened more sections of the stadium because the tickets they allotted sold out? If you don't see the hype for this fight you're not paying attention.
