If they not going to do their research and actually follow these sports just scrap the award. It's bad enough they have to combine two completely different sports into one category.

It's like having Clayton Kershaw, Tom Brady and Lebron James in a category called "best thrower". This **** is an insult.

These candidates really do a good job of demonstrating what this "awards" show really is.

To anybody who spends their time voting for this, or watching for the results....have fun.

McGregor got flattened, so he shouldn't have been nominated this time. What have the other guys done since the last ESPYs? I guess Canelo beat Cotto?

Hate to say it but it's McGregor. He beat the best guy in the world by knock out and even though he lost vs Diaz, he had the balls to move up from 145 to 170. None of those guys has a win like that nor took a risk of that magnitude.

The best upset is a fun category. No contest in my mind though, Vinci beating Serena Williams was one of the biggest upsets of all time across all sports.

Also, if you click on a nominee, it brings up a description for why they were selected.

EDIT: Just went through the Best Play nominees and man that's a doozy of a category. About half of them I watched and thought "dam it's gonna be hard as fcuk to vote against this"

Canelo had the balls to fight at 155.
