Schaefer doesn't need to establish anything he still has all the relationships with the venues, contacts ect. He was part of golden boy when they broke ground at Barclays for example. So he's worked directly with all those people at Barclays. Lou has been handling those fights. But my guess is Schaefer slips in and takes over that role. He is not a green promoter who has to work his way to prove himself. He just needs the money, resources and a promoter license. I'm guessing he has all 3 if he is now officially created his promotional company. And he has bond with Haymon, Lou was an outsider who Haymon went to after the Golden Boy split out of necessity. If all things equal why would Haymon stay using Lou instead of a man he's close to like Schaefer who helped him steal fighters away from Golden Boy?

Now he has no fighters that's true but damn near all these sham promoters Haymon uses don't have any legal ties to the fighters. Haymon has the fighters signed and just uses these promoters for their license and pays them a fee.

I'll continue this six months to a year from now and see if anything you predicted is true.

How was it BS? Mayweather said he wanted to hire Schaefer. Schaefer had different plans. Schaefer said he and Mayweather talked and would talk again. So if Garcia decides not to sign with Mayweather is Mayweather's talk about wanting to sign Garcia BS also? How do you people come up with this stuff?

If TBE hired him soon enough, Schaefer wouldn't have thought of creating his own company. TBE is just all talk doe, just admit it. He's too chicken to use his own money.

So Mayweather's talk about hiring Schaefer was all BS. Floydhype.com ran multiple articles about it and it ended up with nothing. It's all just about blowing horns.

Yup very interesting to see how this dynamic goes now. Because he wanted Schaefer to basically work for him and now he's technically competition. There is only 1 basketball interesting to see how these 3 guys share the rock. Haymon is still top dog he really don't need either of them he has all the talent signed up. Mayweather's roster is weak and Schaefer roster is non-existent. But he in some ways owes both of them. Mayweathers success allowed Haymon to amass leverage in the game with networks, fighters, promoters ect. And Schaefer running golden boy tried conspire and steal the company from Oscar and had shady fighter contracts and one by one steered golden boy fighters to let their deals run out and sign directly with Haymon instead of resign with golden boy.

The longer it took for Schaefer to come back I knew he wasn't going to come back and work for Mayweather promotions. If that was his plans he could of did that LAST summer when his non compete clause part of his settlement with Golden Boy ran out.

Schaefer was banned from boxing until August of last year. So Schaefer was supposed to break his ban and sign with Floyd? Floyd tried to hire him. Schaefer had other plans.

Why would Floyd EVER use another promoter to promote his own fights and take a cut of his money? If he fights again going forward I see it being strictly Mayweather Promotions. He used Golden Boy because they had the contacts, experience and license. Once Schaefer left he used Golden Boy one more time BECAUSE he had to. After that he got a license and been promoting fights for real and had a mega fight where Mayweather Promotions handled the A side promotions. He's learned on the job and has no need for any promoter.

Honestly Floyd is better off without that snake in the building. Remember Schaefer got introduced and hired by Oscar for 1 reason. He was a family friend and Oscar thought he could trust him. That was his only qualification at the time when Oscar needed somebody to run his boxing company. Now if Schaefer can stab a man in the back who he had a personal relationship BEFORE they got in business. What makes you think he won't stab a business acquaintance in the back like Floyd? Ellerbe might be a fool and inept at times but he's loyal and will jump on a grenade for Floyd and he don't have to worry about Ellerbe doing any snake ish like you will always have to worry about with a slime ball like Schaefer on the payroll.
