hats off to both Tito and Mayorga. Excellent fight, however, people should not automatically name this fight of the year unless they have seen the Marquez/Paquiao fight.

It was a good fight but it was only second best of the night, and maybe the fourth or so best of the year in my opinion.

The best last night was Jeff Lacy vs. Syd Vanderpool. Other possible FOY's: Pacquaio-Marquez, Corrales-Freitas, Morales-Hernandez, Spinks-Judah.

Mayorga raised the value of his stock with his two consecutive losses, something that scantly happens in boxing or any other aspect of life. De la Hoya could be taking a serious look in Mayo's direction. if he is not, he must: on top of the megabucks to be made, Mayo's style is one that Oscar can be very comfortable with. A win over Mayorga could also bring back whatever the Golden Boy may have lost resulting from the loss to Hopkins. The bill can be sold as a match of "two great" fighters on the come-back trail after suffering losses. The contrast in styles will generate interest even among the most jaded of boxing scene observers.

            Mayorga update!
“I felt good about my performance, but my eye swelled up, and I couldn’t see some shots." When asked if he felt that he had hurt Trinidad when he knocked him down in the third round, Mayorga replied, “No,” and left the ring and immediately left Madison Square Garden in an ambulance for Bellevue Hospital. At the hospital, translator Tony Gonzalez asked Mayorga if he was okay. El Matador replied: “I’m fine except for a bruised heart.” He was later seen at his hotel where members of his team said he was fine and mentioned that he did not receive stitches for the gash under his left eye. He is scheduled to return to Nicaragua later this week.

These are some of the best and emotional words, I have heard from Mayorga. I hated that son of a ***** with a passion but it is glad to see him on a positive side and stop his antics.
