You see it how I am seeing it but others feel like they have to support Hayman for some reason in everything he does. I call a spade a spade but others cant. This is a BS fight, it does nothing for Vasquez in his career, it wont help him progress. If Vasquez is just looking to get paid, ok I can understand but if he is looking to be a world champ one day fighting a guy thats life isnt obviously dedicated to boxing anymore doesnt get him ready for the Shawn Porters, Keith Thurmans, Kell Brooks, and Danny Garcias.

Basically Vasquez is going to stay busy against a guy thats Heart is not in the game anymore. Haymon just waved the right amount of $ in Collazos face is all. To me a good stay bust wouldve been Andre Berto or Robert Guerrero. Those guys are a test and can build his name with a win or hell throw him in there with Figueroa Jr...
WBC has their rules; winner of a vacant belt has to face two mandatory challengers before regular order sets in.

Unification fights always supercede mandatory defenses (at least to WBC/WBA/IBF), so whatever.

Sammy Vasquez Jr is on the cusp of getting his opportunity, so the stage is set to 1)fine tune any last minute things that he may need to learn and 2)build his profile up so that, when he does get his shot, it'll mean more to everybody.

Let Vasquez Jr, not unlike Errol Spence Jr has been able to do, get some heat behind him before he gets his shot.

This is a solid fight for Sammy. Collazo is a crafty lefty with tons of experience...been in with the likes of talented champions and has definitely learned a few tricks along the way.

How many of these guys does sammy have under his belt? NONE. He only has 21 fights and this guy doesn't own a single belt, so until then, any and all experience is valuable!
