Can't really complain about this fight. Not bad IMO.

Sammy Vasquez still working his way up fans need to calm the *** down, you guys want guys to become stars overnight it takes YEARS to make guys stars and yes they will be thrown in with Older Veterans to continue to build them up

Vasquez Jr just have to keep taking care of business and destroy everything that is throw in front of him and yes the bigger fights will come. Same for Spence Jr and others I'm sure it is not easy getting guys to fight these up and coming talented fighters because nobody wants to be the Stepping Stone for them

Vasquez gets a good look, Collazo gets another opportunity for a payday, and a good performance (even in a loss) sets the stage for a final opportunity to remain viable as a fighter (thinking about his fellow New York/NY-based welterweights who he can fight [Algieri, Provodnikov, Malignaggi], Robert Guerrero, and possibly a Victor Ortiz rematch]
Collazo is coming off of what ever you want to say Thurman did to him. It would be nice to see Sammy in with a winner and not a guy who's only been KO'd once... or twice.

Not that bad to me, but then again, I don't believe in Sammy the same way some of you seem to. I expect him to win against a badly faded Collazo, but I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't. This is a decent fight at the right time in Vasquez's career.

Vasquez Jr is playing his position; depending on how the Collazo fight goes (Collazo's experience is definitely going to be something that Vasquez Jr has to work with, but I foresee him winning), he's basically a final eliminator away from being second mandatory to Danny Garcia.

With things looking like Lamont Peterson possibly walking away from the deal, VasquezJr and his camp chose to keep busy, taking a fight against a rugged unothrodox veteran who can help him learn a thing or two about throwing hands.

I'm not knocking Sammy, OK? I'm knocking the perception of privilege and fan let down. He's in line for a title shot, fine, so you're gonna put Sammy on a cherry diet while you wait for it?

The second mandatory? lol! When are we going to see some unification's? I could understand a stay busy fight but wasn't Collazo contemplating calling it a career even before Thurman? Basically Vasquez is going to stay busy against a guy thats Heart is not in the game anymore. Haymon just waved the right amount of $ in Collazos face is all. To me a good stay bust wouldve been Andre Berto or Robert Guerrero. Those guys are a test and can build his name with a win or hell throw him in there with Figueroa Jr...

Don't give a **** about this match-up, even-though I understand its purpose. Collazo has been out since last July and kinda seems like a mental midget, so why should I be excited about? It's a skippable stay-busy.
