He has as much time as anyone, especially Bernard Hopkins, who didn't fight Tito until he was 36, and Oscar when he was 39. So in reality, GGG has paced himself pretty well.

Not really. Froch, Kessler and Dirrell never moved up. Ward has beat no one of note at 175 where he drags up supermiddleweights. According to all the GGG detractors, GGG isn't great because he doesn't move up.

Hmmm... so you think he's like a small Ward? Ward's techniques work on shorter fighters. GGG isn't shorter than Eubank and throws too hard... the dirty stuff won't work on GGG... same reason Ward will have an impossible task with Kovalev... he's not the bigger guy, Kovalev will easily deal with Ward's attempts at fighting dirty. Hopkins got carried by Kov after Kov made it clear the dirty stuff wouldn't work and evaded the head butts with ease.

Eubank has a similar frame as Murray. Watching Eubank spar Froch, he wasn't really outsized against Carl. In his best win over Chudinov, who's a little tank at MW, Eubank clinched and bullied the Russian while nailing him with viscious head shots.





As for Kovalev/Ward - it would be a grave mistake by Kovalev to go into that fight thinking he'll beat Ward on physical advantages. Ward's a legit sized LHW. People always remarked how physically strong he was at SMW. I could see Ward being the stronger on the inside and wrestling Kovalev, but Kovalev's pretty smart and smooth and knows how to apply his power.

That's a big IF, and it's facing another, even bigger one: If Eubank can't handle Golovkin's power, what then?

You need a plan B against somebody like GGG. And because of Jr's inexperience, he wouldn't have anything to fall back on if Golovkin started hurting and shaking him. Except the canvas, of course!

I fear Jr will end up getting hurt badly if this fight goes ahead. And if that happens, the self belief and swagger which are integral to his whole approach to boxing might be gone forever.

At least Canelo would have moved up. This argument also holds no water btw. Canelo, like him or not, HAS fought top opposition. He has fought Floyd, Lara, Trout, and Cotto, allhad decent shots at winning (with one schooling). I don't include Angulo, Kirkland, etc, because they suck. My point is that he has fought some guys who were top fighters, yet again, GayLoveKin has not done that

Don't exclude Angulo..... he was genuinely ranked at #4..... is no worse than Lemieux..... and he was much better than most of these "top10" guys that the fanboys roll out for Golovkin.

They include Stevens and Monroe, so yea, Angulo stays.

1) don't compare Hypekin to Hopkins, there is literally NO similarity

2) what Hopkins did after he turned 40, is extraordinary..... and is an exception to the rule..... it is a HUGE CALL to insinuate that lil'G could even come close to matching those feats, even if you love him dearly..... Hopkins is not "anyone", most guys are done by 35yo

3) stating that a 35yo 10-year vet who has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING within the sport has..... "paced himself pretty well"...... is beyond absurd.

How has Canelo "paced himself" then..... ? considering that he is a 25yo kid who is starting to build a very good resume? Let me guess..... terrible, right?
