Ward avoided GGG, not the other way around. In conversation with HBO, GGG said yes he was ready to fight Ward. Ward said no. And then he started acting like he said yes, made a real offer but GGG had already signed a contract for a real fight in real time instead of a nebulous "we'd like to tie you up with a contract that will take 2 years of more to come to fruition and we have no responsibilities other than maybe making a few tuneup fights".
Ward has been rather UN-S.O.G. about the whole thing. When GGG realized Ward wasn't serious about anything other than talk to promote the UN-S.O.G. without fighting anyone he declared Ward dead to him. Seriously, read the interview he gave in Russian. The guy clearly speaks the truth and does not respect Ward as a human being or a boxer.
And GGG is the best pure boxer anywhere close to the MW division. Easily. If you can't see it it's because YDKSAB. You just wanna talk rep and A side and BS so-called promoter issues. Once again.... YDKS.

Hmmm... so you think he's like a small Ward? Ward's techniques work on shorter fighters. GGG isn't shorter than Eubank and throws too hard... the dirty stuff won't work on GGG... same reason Ward will have an impossible task with Kovalev... he's not the bigger guy, Kovalev will easily deal with Ward's attempts at fighting dirty. Hopkins got carried by Kov after Kov made it clear the dirty stuff wouldn't work and evaded the head butts with ease.

Not really. Froch, Kessler and Dirrell never moved up. Ward has beat no one of note at 175 where he drags up supermiddleweights. According to all the GGG detractors, GGG isn't great because he doesn't move up.

As much as I hate the Eubanks, they got the Billy fight wrong. Frittered away the first half of the fight. I think Eubank wins the rematch if it happens.
