one of the best "pure" boxers i have ever seen.

underachieved as a pro, but can you blame him? he literally had to get smuggled out of cuba. dude was already an aging man by the time he'd turned pro. had a full, robust career as an amateur.

as an amateur he was about as good as it got. two gold medals in the olympics. two gold medals in the world's in non olympic years (biggest amateur boxing tourney in the world on a non olympic year.)

I know, nobody wanted to fight Golovkin except all the guys calling him out. Just like nobody wanted to fight Rigo except all the guys calling him out.

Córdoba and Agbeko are good names on his resume. Besides that it's a bum-list.

Rigo is thinking about getting paid which in a way I understand but with that mentality, less people will see his amazing boxing skills. Sad! He truly is the best boxer in the world, just needs more of those real fights to show it to the world.

Who called him out? Leo who wanted tree melon? Loma who wouldn't meet in the middle while complaining about his weight disadvantage vs salido? Frampton who moved up as soon as possible. Ok

His legacy will be beating Donaire and nothing else

he ducked Lomachenko, didn't want to move up, boo hoo Loma is so big and Rigo so small

but he had no problem moving up in weight for Santa Cruz or Jhonny Gonzalez who are even bigger

he'll keep fighting janitors until he retires, which could be soon. The moment those reflexes start to wane with old age, that glass jaw will get shattered over and over again

So, what do you think of his legacy?
In all honesty, he doesn't have a legacy worth talking about.

Both Frampton and Quigg have better opponents in a span of 2 years than Rigo has in his entire career, bar Donaire. That's ridiculous.

Rigo has/had all the skill in the world but like of many divas, he has wasted it.

                    Those Two Ruined Donire.

I want to see Rigo fight! He is an amazing fighter.
You know what? That was good enough for me. Ill take that. We had some idiots here that were ready to call DOanire an ATG right up to that point.

In any case, blackballing is real. Signing to obscure promoting outfits must not have helped either but despite the blackballing and how some fans just dont appreciate how good he is, I will always respect him for dismantling the fraud of Donaire.

Agreed! Had him seeing double/triple. Rigo derailed that hype job. Walters buried him. He has been in the rebuild re hype zone, but it is a tough sell.

Black balling is real. Rigo humiliated Donaire, and I don't need slow motion video to prove it. He probably could have stopped Donaire.

Rigo fights beautifully, he is an artist!
