Tureano Johnson was the mandatory, he got injured during training camp and pulled out of the match. Wade was a last minute replacement and the best opponent they could find in that hurry

After Johnson was injured #2 ranked Wade became the IBF mandatory. Team GGG didn't chose him as a last minute replacement.

He said the injury was pre-O'kane. As much as he tweets he never mentioned the injury. All he talked about was how he was training for his chance to fight GGG next. The suddenly the injury came. And he also stopped tweeting as much. Funny how a guy who complained all last year about being inactive was suddenly able to afford to take this much time off after one fight. And the next fighter up was a Haymon fighter, who up to that point hadn't had a fighter on HBO in almost 2 years (?). Maybe someone from GBP thought Haymon would pull a purse bid and force GGG to drop the belt. Or maybe I'm just reading to much into it. But it would be nice to see the prefight medical report before his fight with O'kane to see if an injury was listed.
