HBO has a reported boxing budget of what 30m a year? Showtime has something in that ballpark as well. Haymon had hundreds of millions at his disposal last year and outspent both networks combined. PBC had more show dates then both networks as well. So yes he had more resources and the fighters to really make something great. And he wasted it. And if fonfara is catering to casual fans who wanted to see him then why did the fight pull such dog crap ratings? Only slightly better then the all time worse NBC rating and dead last in the prime time rarings? Haymon threw that crap out there because it's cheap and fonfara costs less then his better and more popular fighters. He spent to much money and can't afford to put out better cards these days. But had he put on better quality fights last year maybe casual fans give a crap about pbc and you get better viewers, attendance that will actually payslike to watch, and maybe today PBC wouldnt be on life support. At worst at least boxing fans would be united around it. Which it definitely is not right now.

No mention of attendance, no mention of the number of tickets that were even in play, and the 1iota site doesn't even seem to have any references to ever even hosting as a ticket filler for PBC (probably has something to do with the seemingly new 'Vivid Seats' sponsorship for PBC).

You really getting desperate denying links from this same damn message forum with people you chat with every day talking about here are free tickets if you want to see the fight and people saying thanks after they used the link to that agency. PBC attendance figures are bogus just accept it. They don't release live gate numbers for a reason.Last edited by bigdunny1; 06-20-2016, 01:58 AM.

Fonfara wasn't put on there because he's cheap. He sells out the UIC Pavillion. He was put on there for exposure for a possible Stevenson fight and because he's an action fighter that makes for good TV.
Bottom line is you or I don't matter because we're going to watch the fights anyway. When the hardcore boxing fans were asked to show their support for the sport they showed up only 150,000 strong. Last week they were asked to show their support for a fighter some are saying might be an ATG. They showed up only 600,000 strong. Now do you see why HBO is spending more money on Jon Stewart and Bill Simmons than boxing? Because the hardcore boxing fans can't support the sport.

It shows you their priorities lie elsewhere. Anytime you star a business your start up costs eat a nice chunk of your budget. You also expect to operate at a loss for a certain period of time.
