"The numbers just get worse and worse for Premier Boxing Champions. The ratings for this past Saturday night’s card on NBC in prime time sank to PBC’s lowest in prime time. The 2½-hour telecast, which was headlined by a fight that generated zero prefight buzz and was viewed as a mismatch (although unknown Joe Smith scored a first-round knockout of light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara in a major upset), generated just a 0.8 overnight rating, down 20 percent from NBC’s previous PBC telecast in April (1.0) and down 39 percent from the card before that in December (1.3), according to Sports Media Watch. The 0.8 is the lowest for a prime-time PBC card on network television (there have been nine telecasts between NBC and Fox since PBC debuted in March 2015). According to Sports Media Watch, the 0.8 is one of the lowest metered market ratings ever for a sporting event on prime-time network television. Every NBC prime-time PBC telecast has had a worse rating than the one before it, likely due to several poor matchups on paper."

Yup just be a parrot for a known PBC hater. Your a bigger clown Rafeal which is quite a accomplishment at least he's getting paid to be a Fa.got

So every rating gone down, did you forget to mention Garcia / Guererro on fox ? Which you managed to sh.it on also

Also he started off with known fighters and now has put in unknown fighters in those spots ( Omar Fig, Spence, Fonfara )

An avg of 1.2-1.3 is just horrible according to Dan yet 3 years ago when rating were up he was writing glowing reviews of the Main Events card that avg 1.6 million and 1.2 Share was in his words a hit. Nothing but positives words for that. I bet if you look at PBC cards that exceeded those #s he will put a negative spin on it. No mention that it was a exciting card just focusing on negatives

So there was no hype and it's a mismatch, has he said the same thing about HBo telecasts? But this is the guy you quote, Loma did 580 which is basically Rigo #s when he got banished but I bet you won't read a negative spin on that it was probably like great fight not so strong #s but it went head to head against Showtime so there's a excuse.

You claim that you had high hopes and you wanted to see PBC succeed. I find it funny that you signed up on this site the day after the first PBC card. I bet your first post weren't anything positive about PBc, So you were so disapointed after the first card that you've acted like a scorn women for the last 1 1/2 years bringing up nothing but negatives. Your basically a b.itch @ss Fa.got who can't even be honest on a annonomous website. Keep on being a life winner or a GB employee

      • You dumb motherphuker really trying to compare main events cards on NBC to PBC?

        http://thecomeback.com/queensberryru...the-start.html

“I did a show on NBC two, three years ago. I had a $150,000 rights fee. I had to live in that,” she said. “At the peak of my show, I had 3.2 (million watching), they had 4.2. He went out and spent $8 million on marketing, production, the time buy and only got a million more people to watch than I did. My marketing budget on that show was $5,000.”

Her NBC cards were dirt cheap and I believe aired during the day or on Sundays during the day NOT prime time you idiot. Operating in a 150k budget. PBC a infinitely higher budget hell the main event A side fighter makes more then duva s entire budget yet the ratings are terrible dead last in prime time ratings new alltime low 1.2m viewers. And duva was paid by NBC. PBC was the other way around they paid NBC millions for the air time to get these ratings disasters. LMAO

AND why are you comparing the debut first broadcast on fox a different channel with new viewers to this? Why not compare it tk NBC debut card? the fox card you brought up was not on NBC but since you want to talk about it it debuted with 30% less viewers then NBC debut did. And the next fight just like every card on NBC fell in ratings fox specifically fell by 30%. Fox ratings are actually more disturbing then NBC you idiot because their ratings started at a lower point and the trend of every card on every network PBC practically settng new alltime lows is actually steeper on fox. It took nbc 4 cards and 10 months to fall to the ratings fox did in just 4 months and 2 cards.

These ratings are terrible for the time slot they air and terrible for the money PBC paid for the air time. That's like saying pbc is doing great on espn because their ratings are higher the FNFs. Leaving out the fact those fights were on ESPN2 not ESPN, we're on Friday not Saturday night and oh yeah FNF had a dirt cheap 50k budget and their fights made money while PBC pays millions in purses alone with overall budget 30-50 times that and loses MILLIONS each show.

        • Got one idiot actually denying that pbc gives half the tickets away for free for their fights even though the live gate figures which pbc tries to hide from the assocated press that LA TIMES looked up and reported PROVES this. And another idiot trying to ignore the fact that EVERY card on NBC has gotten worse ratings, and the latest card got one of the worse prime time sporting rating ever. There is no positive spin out of that these are facts. These are historically bad ratings and trends. You can polish a turd all day but it's still a piece of shyt.

It did better than the Argentina Copa America game on FOX the previous Friday.

That's friday not sat and I don't think bad ratings for a soccer tournament that Americans don't even care about for games that don't even include team USA has to do with PBC ratings being terrible on Sat prime time. A random early round game featuring other countries did bad ratings? OK

This is the problem with PBC the ratings are so bad that people are trying to find comparables that make no sense. Like one dude comparing afternoon cards that cost peanuts from Main Events to PBC spending millions more to produce and then paying 10's of millions for the air time and only getting slightly better ratings on Sat night prime time. Or comparing HBO ratings to NBC ratings like they don't know the difference between premium cable and network tv is hundred million less homes with HBO only in 30% of the homes that have NBC. Showing bad ratings for another network on a random friday night 2 weeks ago doesn't all a sudden make PBC's crap ratings better. PBC ratings have been terrible, gotten worse each card and just posted one of the worst sports rating in sat prime time.

Bigdummy, you highlighted Dan Rafael's piece which stated the PBC on NBC telecast was one of the worst-rated primetime sports telecasts in history. Well, I just pointed out a primetime sports telecast just one week before that did even worse. You shouldn't get mad because it lessens the impact of that point.

Also, I got a belly laugh out of Argentina vs. Panama on Friday got bad ratings because it didn't matter despite 53K in attendance, but Fonfara vs. Smith Jr. was clearly a barnburner that had the attention of Americans around the country.

That's prolly because much of the soccer audience is watching on Univision, which is doing much better numbers than the FOX channels.

So far this tournament, FOX Sports is averaging 759,571 viewers per game compared to 2,600,000 viewers on Univision.

For the Argentina game in particular:

                  Game 16
                  Argentina vs. Panama
                  FOX 1,150,000
                  UniMas & Univision Deportes 2,200,000

                    Ward vs Barrera (1.062 mil)

                    Crawford vs Lundy (9862)

                    Lomachenko vs Martinez (613k)
