He's been caught with shots as big as those. It's boxing. It's going to happen. He just happens to have a pretty good chin (quite underrated), and good recuperative powers.

Do you really believe that's all it is? There have been an absolute ****load of 'safety first' fighters through the decades, and nearly all of them get caught. Maybe there's more to it than him simply not opening up? Why do other fighters who don't open up get caught? Why is it, when he did open up, which happened in more fights than it didn't, was he not caught and knocked out in them either?

Do you think there's any chance that your dislike of him leads you to seeing things a certain way?

Tell me, do you think that he's the only fighter that chooses to fight like this and that all the other guys just open up for the sake of fun and the fans, even though they could fight safety first like Floyd if they wanted, win all or many more of their fights, make lots more money, have greater careers, and take less punishment?

The way you explain it, you talk as if it's a simple thing to do and that if everyone so chose, they could also do what Floyd does, but they just prefer to fight more recklessly.

Why is he the only person to have been able to do what he has in all of boxing history? Is he the only guy in history that chooses to fight a smarter, safely first style, and hit and not get hit? He chooses to not exchange, supposedly, and only throw single shots, while everyone else would rather fight more, and have lesser careers and earn less?

Name one other fighter today that could do what Floyd has, if they so chose to do it.

To be fair, even if you dislike Floyd and say he cherry picked at the right time, pillow gloves etc. etc. all the excuses everyone usually makes...to go 19 years and never get dropped heavily or anything is quite an amazing achievement, especially when you consider the names on his record. You can almost count on 1 hand the amount of times he took a real heavy shot and was hurt.

19 years, 18 as champion and always turning up completely focused, in great shape and having the desire to win is something that should be applauded, even if you don't like the guy.

Oh and when he has been caught heavily, he's shown a hell of a chin and ability to recover and keep calm, which is pretty great for a guy who almost never gets hurt to keep such composure. Maidana hit him with a shot right at the end of a round that would have flattened most fighters, it was a hellish shot right on the button.

His anticipation and timing was the best I've ever seen. It's like he knew what they were getting ready to do and had the answer waiting. When he was caught, he recovered quickly and always kept his composure.

Floyd is absolute granite and has will to win we can't comprehend. Corley, Mosley and Maidana could have won those fights against anyone else landing those kinda shots. But because it's Floyd he was already back on top before the end of the round in the Corley and Mosley fights. Obviously Maidana landed on the bell and we don't know what would have happened.
