Comments Thread For: Martin Murray Lashes Out, Tears Apart George Groves

Martin Murray says George Groves got his name from losing twice to Carl Froch and believes he'll look to shift the blame when he beats him in their clash for the WBA International Super-Middleweight title at The O2 on Saturday June 25, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Both Murray and Boy Groves lose well in big fights and cry hard

Neck tattoo Murray and flame top orange face George Groves are good boxers who fight well and both lose well in big fights. The great Froch shut up Groves twice via KO and basically ended Groves meager career and big mouth. Murray did beat Sergio Martinez and should have been middleweight champ but the Murr got screwed in the loss. The younger faster Groves should beat the Murray but Groves does wilt when challenged. Bet Groves to win a decision.

Murray arguably beat Sergio. That's better than anything groves has done. Groves claim to fame is arguably being stopped too soon to froch

Groves needs to win this, to prove he is at that level. Murray has always come up short and you have to feel for him. People forget Groves once decisioned DeGale who is probably the best at 168 right now. Groves W12 for me.

Groves seems like a shadow of himself since being Cobra'd.
Murray needs to put Groves under pressure to beat him, to get in close and spoil , if he can crack him with a couple of short hooks he stands a chance.

he beat abraham too, wobbled him twice as well (which is amazing considering his 'lack of power' and aa's chin)

Murray is a bit more likeable but it's a shame for either to lose here. They seem to know it's make or brake for them. I think Groves takes it. Murray was noticeabley the smaller guy in a press conference.

Rooting for Murray in this one. He tends to seem to lose close decisions, mainly Sturm, Martinez and Abraham(He won the first and 3rd imo whereas Martinez edged it out) but Andy Lee during the Gloves are off middleweights, said it best about Murray's greatest flaw. He's too refined in that at times he needs to go balls to wall more often. Murray's style will give Groves problems. Just a matter of Murray following through

Murray was not a big puncher at 160, likely less of one at 168. Groves has good pop but shaky chin.
