It's tough, but i give Wilder respect for taking the fight with Povetkin (it wasn't his fault that the fight was cancelled)
Golovkin needs bigger names, but he's avoided
Brook has an awesome win in Porter, but needs to fight bigger names (respect for taking the Vargas fight)
So to me, the most protected fighter is clearly Canelo, he was the middleweight champion without a single fight against a legitimate middle, also that was since his 154 days, fighting old Mosley, old Baldomir, old Cintron, etc...
The guy hasn't beaten any world class fighter decisively at the natural weight of his opponents. (yeah he beat Lara, Trout and Cotto, but all close fights)Comment

I'd say Wilder Canelo has fought the P4P TBE and many top 10 contenders and Champs Wilder has only fought 1 guy in the top ten Stiverne and he won the tiltle from a joke fighter who's training consist of tacos and beer and now Wilder is fighting this bum. You have to ask this has Wilder fought a heavyweight of Floyds skills ? No I'm not a Mayweather fan I'm just pointing this out that Wilder has fought no one till date so he's the most protected heavyweight champ of all timeWho do you consider to be the most protected fighter in boxing?
To me, it got to be Saul Alvarez. The things he is allowed to get away with are extremely lame. Making his own weight class? Fighting smaller opponents? The judges not only giving him the lead against Khan, but also wins against Lara and Trout and a draw against Mayweather? The constant excuses for not fighting Golovkin while getting away with it?
Another candidate would have to be Stevenson. The guy just refuses to fight anyone dangerous.Comment

nah hes like 5 years older than Canelo. Canelo fought Trout, Floyd, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland all in a row and got the rightful decisions in all the fights he won that weren't by KO and lost to Floyd. You said he got a draw against Floyd but he got a loss against Floyd which he deserved. I think you meant to say it was a draw on one of three cards but he still lost.Well. He started boxing at a late age and he's still young. He has beaten Stiverne and he was willing to travel to Russia to fight Povetkin. Wilder is trying and I don't think it's fair to classify as protected at the moment. As a last-minute option instead of Povetkin, he even took Arreola (not that good, but good for a replacement).
If Trout and Lara would have got the wins vs Canelo we would be saying the opposite that he had tough luck decisions. It was very apparent that he would 7 and maybe 8 rounds against both Trout and Lara. People can say they should have been a draw but the Trout fight I don't see it. Even if you think Lara won it was such a close fight you wouldn't be able to say it was a convincing win.Comment

canelo has fought better p4p competition, but he doesn't have a better resume if you consider weight. canelo has fought many, many welterweights moving up. his best wins are cotto, a JMW, and lara, another JMW.
and who is calling out golovkin? he's been ducked by canelo, cotto, martinez, the three biggest names in the division of the last 5 years, and it's lineal champions. canelo is literally creating his own weight class so he can fight smaller guys and duck golovkin. goldenboy doesn't want the biggest earner in boxing fighting the biggest puncher in boxing. it's the biggest fight that can be made right now, and goldenboy are going through ridiuclous hoops to keep it from happening. yet you somehow find a way to blame gennady golovkin!
why are you focusing on golovkin "fighting mandatories" without acknowledging the cause?
I dont agree with the he is being ducked 100%, his team is protecting their investment and building his hype until a big fight is on the horizon
its a two way street...this isnt 2013....he is a unified titleholder and the only fight that would be the A side over him is Canelo from 154-168...maybe degale in the UK
the A sends offers not the other way around...who is he calling out? who does he want to fight? seems like k2 is just fine with him koing no name "mis-mandatories"
Put up or shut up....excuses are for losers or fighters who havent fought anyone that captured the fans attention...and he hasntComment

Let's be honest here. You just want GGG to lose. It is clear that he is better than anybody in his natural weight, which is 160. So you want him to be at disadvantage, so you'll have a chance to get you wish. This trend of "moving up" works for pros who either started very young and it was their natural body growth, or intentionally started in the weightclass below their natural weight. For regular fighter to gain weight over his natural means losing speed without gaining adequate return.Unification is an excuse for not moving up in weight to fight better quality competition. It is an excuse to continue to fight weak completion while s till collecting a paycheck from HBO. Golovkin could have moved up ot 168 and fought Andre Ward and still come back down and unify the titles instead of fighting Willie Munroe Jr. and Dominic Wade. Instead, he chose to fight these C-level opponents under the guise of unifying the division.
Roy Jones moved up to heavyweight and beat John Ruiz. He then moved back down to light-heavyweight to fight the best opponents at that weight. Golovkin could do the same thing.
For Roy moving all the way back to LHW was a disaster. It is obvious that you crave the same fate for GGG.Comment

k2 is trying to keep their 34 year old, favored puncher out of the biggest fight in boxing? wtf are they waiting for?
this anti golovkin crusade of yours is pathetic. you can't be reasonable becuse of your biases. it is what it is. if it doesn't stop you're going to see fewer and fewer intelligent posters taking the time out of their day to try and reason with you.Comment
