    Most protected fighter in boxing?

Who do you consider to be the most protected fighter in boxing?

To me, it got to be Saul Alvarez. The things he is allowed to get away with are extremely lame. Making his own weight class? Fighting smaller opponents? The judges not only giving him the lead against Khan, but also wins against Lara and Trout and a draw against Mayweather? The constant excuses for not fighting Golovkin while getting away with it?

Another candidate would have to be Stevenson. The guy just refuses to fight anyone dangerous.

GGG....this guy stayed the amateurs until he was dragged away kicking and screaming

Now he's in the pros hiding in the weakest Middleweight division EVER.

Hopkins is taller than GGG yet he shed a few pounds to fight Oscar..
If GGG had any balls he would have done the same thing to get Canelo

Kathy Duva ducked her own purse bid to avoid Stevenson.

Alvarez was thrown to the wolves with Mayweather and chose to fight Lara and Trout. He's definitely taken soft touches in Khan, Angulo, and Kirkland.

Wilder has still only fought one top 10 HW.

Canelo has a better resume and has fought better opposition than GGG....Do i favor him to beat him? no but the truth is the truth

as far as protected My top 4 are GGG, Wilder, Stevenson, Brook. Out of the 4 only wilder was scheduled to fight a top guy in his division but it fell through.

lets be real, how many risks has GGG, Stevenson, and brook taken since becoming champions?

at least Wilder tried an no one really calls him out like the other guys

.none of these fighters are calling out the best in their divison besides wilder who wanted povetkin, fury and company

the other guys teams are happy milking the mandatory doe, excuse...come on man.

as far as ggg he doesnt have to take risks because of built in excuses, brook too " he has a mandatory doe"...." they ducking doe"

more people are calling out GGG and brook than wilder and steveson though.....all 4 should be held accountable for their opposition....difference is, people speak on stevensons and Wilders all the time and not the other 2 fighters

Kell Brook and Deontay Wilder got mentioned in this thread and I would agree. I can't claim that they're more protected than Canelo, though. Brook travelled to USA to fight Porter and Wilder travelled to Russia to fight Povetkin. Both of them should really step up the quality of their opposition, but Wilder seems to be trying to actually do that. Povetkin, in Russia, as opponent? And then Arreola as a last-minute replacement fight? Brook, though, needs to STFU about wanting to fight Amir Khan and start doing something. He is boring everyone to death now by fighting guys like Jo Jo Dan.

Well. He started boxing at a late age and he's still young. He has beaten Stiverne and he was willing to travel to Russia to fight Povetkin. Wilder is trying and I don't think it's fair to classify as protected at the moment. As a last-minute option instead of Povetkin, he even took Arreola (not that good, but good for a replacement).
