    Right-Handed Southpaws?

I know this may seem dumb, but I'm a right-hander (with some power in the left) and have always felt the southpaw stance to be more natural. I've been skating, surfing, snowboarding, etc. with my right foot forward ever since I can remember. In skateboarding they call it the "goofy" stance.

Anyways, I know I'm at a disadvantage until I develop more power in the left and become more ambidextrous. I often shift and switch hit without even realizing it, it just comes naturally in the heat of the moment. I'm not sure what it is (probably all the tricky ass shlt I can pull off on my board), but my footwork seems 10x better as southpaw. I can move very fast, effectively, get in and out, circle/strafe, cut the ring, etc.

Need some second opinions from the good knowledgable folk here...
Most people I've asked tell me to go full on orthodox.
    What do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure Devon Alexander falls into this category.

And there are plenty of natural lefties who fight in the orthodox stance. Cotto and De La Hoya come to mind.

      Isn't Ortrees a converted southpaw?

So, you think I should stick to southpaw and work hard on my left?
One person told me I'd be a nightmare if I had power in both hands.
Another tried to convince me to convert to orthodox.

At the end of the day, footwork is very important. If southpaw is where your feet feel comfortable, stick to it and make the proper strides to improve your left hand.

            It's not dumb at all.

Although it's not common, there's plenty of examples of this and vice versa.

            Winky Wright's one example.

Miguel Cotto is a left handed Othrodox as is Marco Antionio Barrera and Oscar De La Hoya.

Thanks, that's the type of answer I was looking for

Imagine what someone as fleet-footed as this could do:

The name of this trick is called the "impossible" btw, with a little extra flare. Incredibly difficult trick to pull off..
It requires insane footspeed and coordination.

Lomachenko is a right-handed southpaw. Whichever orientation suits you is good enough.

Sounds like you have a natural gift. If possible, I'd suggest working to improving your footwork and left hand. When I started kickboxing I couldn't pull a switch kick or utilize my lead leg for any offensive strikes. It took a little time but eventually I learned to love those techniques.

Point of the story, don't disregard such a unique ability if you don't have to.

I think Ward is also naturally left handed.

that is a sick ass move.

DAT right foot flip in the end there....

as a person who is naturally a southpaw but is ambidextrous (i switch hit when i spar a lot as well, i switch hit in baseball, have no trouble going off hand in basketball) when i was younger i had trouble going right/finishing right/ dribbling right, what i did to greatly improve my off hand was to do daily chores with my off hand.

                    Cooking hand
                    wiping my ass hand
                    one hand driving
                    fapping hand
                    break dancing dominant hand
                    pinky in the stinky hand

i started using my off hand for all those things and it greatly improved my off hand capability. i started switch hitting in baseball and i also throwing footballs (NFL) with my off hand.

That's some of the things you can do to greatly improve your off hand capability.
