Floyd will always avoid the guys with speed and power. His reputation is built on defensive mastery, his brand is built off it, and he can only keep the trick going by fighting slow fighters. If he ever found a Khan and got hit all night long, he knows he would lose his reputation. Thurman has speed and especially power that Floyd wants no part of. He will fight slow powerful fighters because he knows if they are too slow to hit him, the power won't matter. But someone like Thurman with power who can also deliver it with speed? Floyd has never and will never fight anyone like that in their primes. He always has been and always will be someone who cherry picks fights. A few Floydmos still follow the fraud but everyone else got the message after he ducked Pacquiao for 6 years over "steroids" but then he was the one who used an illegal IV when he finally fought him and hired Memo Heredia who has bragged about creating custom steroids. I once thought maybe Thurman could be the young lion out of the pack to maybe, potentially, possibly, give Money May a run down the line when May got older and Keith reached his prime. But once I saw how Thurman looked when he stepped up to a different tier of opponent, those thoughts were quickly dismissed.

It may still be too early to tell but I believe Spence is the best of the younger fighters at WW. I'd pick him over Thurman, Porter and Brook even at this still fairly early stage of his career. Spence hands down has the most potent body attack out of the bunch and he is a big boy at Welter. Keith has showed vulnerability to the body and has appeared to slow down significantly in the later rounds so his mobility would be in jeopardy against Spence, who would surely work the body to slow him down
