A knockdown? Don't be silly. Loma isn't a great puncher, Floyd has suffered one flash knockdown in his career (against Judah, but it wasn't counted), has a proven chin and is one of the greatest defensive fighters in history, and is bigger than Loma. You say that Floyd has never fought a boxer with a pedigree like Loma. Well, the argument applies even stronger the other way around.

I am a fan of Mayweather and he is the naturally bigger guy so I would slightly favor him. But in no way is it a miss match. Loma has a great pedigree and is very good. Grow Loma naturally a bit 2inches 10lbs and he's as good as Mayweather IMO or at least in the same convo.

            Gotta' disagree..

Loma has never fought a guy with Floyd's pedigree..and from a boxing family.

An out of shape Salido would not have beaten Floyd.

But Loma is one the greatest amateur of all time.

As a pro, man is only 7 fights, he's still Learning.

We can't judge Loma in fantasy fights based on his fight vs Salido wich was only his 2nd pro fight.

My point is Loma after 7 pro fights >> Floyd after 7 pro fights.

Hands down, Floyd was not beating world ranked fighters in his firsts 10 pro fights, but Floyd didn't have as much experience as Loma as an amateur.

Just like Rigo, Loma is an alien those 2 times olympian gold medalists are great technicians, winners with skills and speed.

Floyd never fought guys fundamentally sounds like that.

WHO IS THE BEST TECHNICIAN FLOYD FOUGHT?
              Oscar? Cotto?

The best slick fighter Floyd fought might be Judah.

Loma hasn't reached his prime yet, he needs to unify a division and be at least +12 fights, then I will maybe considerate him close to his prime.
If Loma is not in his prime at 28 then when the hell is he in is prime?

He isn't as good as Mayweather because he can't sit in the pocket as well as Mayweather, as shown against Salido which is why he resorted to a lot of holding. Lomachenko doesn't have as sophisticated a jab. On top of that I've notice people ignore the fact that he tends to lower his right hand similar to Pacquiao and he's eaten his fair share of right hands, don't know why this goes unnoticed.

This thread is premature most importantly, until he faces anyone as refined on the inside/ as physical as Salido again, the book is still open. Someone like Walters.

If Floyd fought Salido in his second pro bout? Yeah, Salido probably would've beaten him as well. Lomachenko lost due to his inexperience at the pro level, not because of a lack of skill.

And Floyd didn't have wins over guys like Russell or Martinez in his first 7 fights. Not even close. He was fighting the Bobby Gieperts of the world at that point.

I know comp shows a lot, but since Loma was obviously a better amateur than Floyd, and has accomplished more in fewer fights as a pro (Floyd beat Genaro in fight #18) you have to admit that Lomachenko could eventually be viewed as a better p4p fighter if he continues this run. Time will tell...

And this is coming from a Floyd fan.

But obviously this conversation is kind of moot considering that Floyd turned pro at a much younger age. Who knows how a longer Am career for Floyd or a shorter one for Loma could've affected their styles as pro fighters?

Now this is a fantasy matchup. Floyd started his career at 130. So picture an 8-0 Floyd vs. 7-1 Lomachenko.

I don't know who would win, but if there was ever a glitch in spacetime and current fighters got to travel back in time and fight a fighter from the past-- This would be one of the many fights I'd love to see.
