^This. The "duck" thing is ignorant. These guys do this to get... MONEY. Fans have a hard time understanding that. They think boxing is a video game and forget that it's a career in which you have a very narrow timeframe in which to make your life's savings. As a guy who works in an unstable field, I get that. You gotta get paid. I don't think Nick has the slightest fear of Loma and would likely wreck him. Whether he's greedy or not, or even making a wise decision is a fair game question but the duck accusation is another childish boxing fan game.Comment

Loma had a good crowd on Saturday night. About 40% of the people went to see Loma. I know a lot of people that went to support Vasyl.
Walters fought in NY last year on the same weekend and weren't people leaving during his fight? I'm not saying it's right. I like watching Walters, but I clearly remember people leaving during the Walters-Marriaga fight.
That's why there was some worries for the Crawford-Lundy fight, some people thought they may start leaving during that fight just like they did for Walters. But Crawford had a strong fanbase and nobody left. Even the fans that didn't originally go see Crawford stayed for the rest of the card. Nobody left during the Loma-Martinez fight either. The crowd was alive.
Can't say the same for poor Nick.
I'm not saying Loma is a draw. He still isn't, but I tell you what. He draws better than Walters. He had a ton of support this past Saturday. And I'm sure he gained a lot of new fans after the fight.
The HI-TECH Kingdom is growing.
I don't see Loma fans saying Walters is ducking. Well, that's lie some crazy fans are saying that. Every fan base has crazy fans though.
However, I see more Walters fans saying Loma is scared and they've been saying it for a long time. Almost two years now, that's crazy. They've even gone as far as blaming Loma for Walters not being able to make the weight (126). Like how does that make sense?
I've been exposing these fans for while with FACTS....they don't seem to like it very much.Comment

Agreed, on all counts. I respect the guys who know their value. That was instilled in me long ago by a musician who mentored me.
I am really into the idea of $25 PPVs. I almost never pay for events anymore because it's ridiculous to fork $60 for 1 good fight. It's not even a matter of affording it, it's just the insult of them asking for that much for events that aren't truly special. Walters/Loma and Postol/Crawford should either be on the same card to justify a typical PPV price, or they should be $25ea. To be fking honest, they should be FREE and on network TV but that's another argument for another thread...Comment

actually the person priced out was lomo...lomo has never headlined an hbo card. and when he did bob put him on one with all the ricans on pr day parade so he could finally have a crowd
bob has overpaid him and elected not to pay walters while walters has been more tested...
the fight should have been an even money fight...i dont think either guy is an Aside
lomo had maybe 100 fans in that building..the rest where ricans.
but bob still paid him the most money..this is likely the first time bob ever mad money off of lomo
and it was really money mad by verdejo.
neither guy is an Aside and we have too tell the truth...^This. The "duck" thing is ignorant. These guys do this to get... MONEY. Fans have a hard time understanding that. prove to me lomo is an Aside, when did bc bob over pays you mean you are an Aside...
it's an even money fight..
if walters fought a pr on pr day parade in ny..it would ahve been packed..not bc of walters..but bc of verdejo and the pr he was fighting...same with lomo
TR is picking and choosing who to promote..and if htey are saying he lets shun walters for no reason...and boast lomo..that seems a little like promotional protection. and it doesnt look good on lomo.
LET THESE 2 A LEVEL FIGHTERS FIGHT IT OUT WITH EVEN MONEY CONTRACTS..
The case here is that Walters isn't being paid that amount and he's not in PBC which will reward you for fighting bums so he can either take what he's given and prove he's worth in the ring and shut up all the haters or he can cry about not being paid the same, continue fighting bums, letting his stock go down and pray uncle AL will accept him so he can fight all the bums he wants for big money.
The fighters today don't seem to understand that money doesn't come from thin air and you have to fight your way to becoming a star. Floyd, Pac, De la Hoya, Canelo, Cotto, Tyson and all the big money makers at one point in their careers fought the best until they were at the top and were able to pick and choose who to fight.
I could care less how much a boxer makes, and i care even less nowadays that the best don't fight the best. If your dealt a bad card in boxing just do what athletes in all other sports do. Fight the best, be the best, and the money will come. If Walters wants to stay out of the ring and pull a Mikey Garcia and let his prime pass him by until he reaches the green pastures of Uncle AL(if uncle Al still has money) then so be it. But he doesn't get to whine when there's a reasonable offer in front of him and he refuses to play ball crying that he's not being paid enough. He's not a big enough name or draw to command the money he wants(neither is Loma but he got lucky) and if he wants the big bucks then keep winning, make a name for yourself and then leave for greener pastures like Floyd, Oscar, and Cotto did.Comment

What's even funnier is soft people believing absurd ideas that Walters would accept Loma's mock of donating a portion. I mean seriously people that follow this hype as if that were a solution should just watch reality television since it's all scripted including American Idol garbage. FakeComment

They factor in TV sets. Since technology has grown to our benefit and huge screens are now the norm and affordable, the sports watcher is more intrigued tonget the most out of their sets. That's primarily the reason for that "inflation" type of scenario. $50 would be great with the inclusive HD. American network cable services just taking advantage of HD streams nowadays as if 720p isn't a norm. The PPV option for SD or HD should be inclusive. Two title bouts on sucha card I agree with, and that would be a great card.Comment
