Comments Thread For: Arum on Lomachenko's Options: Salido, Vargas, Walters

New York, New York - Top Rank's Bob Arum has promoted some of the biggest names in the history of boxing. So when he gets excited over a fighter like he did after Vasyl Lomachenko knocked out Roman Martinez on Saturday, the media took notice.

It should be Walters, but he don't want a piece of Loma. I used to respect Walters, what a disappointment he has been.

Walters. Loma fans claim he's ducking but I think they know he's a scary match-up for their boy. I'd love to see Salido rematch Vargas, Walters fight Loma, and winners meet. I think a normal scenario like that is too much to ask of boxing though. We'll be lucky if any of these guys fight each other by the end of the year.

          Walters is tired.

He's done nothing in the past year to actually bring value to a Lomachenko fight.

366 days ago he lost his title on the scales, a year ago today his fight with Marriaga did awful numbers on HBO....and the ratings got even worse his last time out against Sosa.

If Walters really wants a Lomachenko fight he should go out and make a fight...go fight Gamboa or somebody.

Do something other than sit on the sidelines.

I was a bigger Walters fan than I was Loma until he ducked. Given that it looks like Loma will leave 130 after one fight I rather have the Walters fight than the Salido rematch. Can't fault Loma though, he tried to fight Rigo(although i didnt care much for that fight because i think Loma is just too big and it wont be a contest of skill) and Walters and they both declined. Walters is no joke though the guy can box, **** and adapt. The only thing that can be said against him is that he kinda picks on smaller men. But if he makes weight the rules are the rules.

I would really like the Loma fight because it would a legitimate 50/50 fight where Walters wont necessarily be the bigger man. It would be a match of skills and who can deliver his power shots first.

The fight that should be easiest to make is Walters. But Walters wants a million and Top Rank probably only wants to pay half of that. Walters will probably end of fighting another unfortunately.

Most likely we will get Loma vs Salido rematch. That fights sells easily and fans want that rematch.

Vargas doesn't seem realistic. One he won't be ready until October or November and Two his last 2 fights back to back have been Miura and Salido. Both wars. I'm not sure Golden Boy will put him in their next with a machine like Loma.

and wat do you know the top comment on boxing scene is misleading and on top of that something else not new...a black fighter is accused of ducking..

but when i bring up the facts tho...

i'd pick sosa and marriaga over martinez..you do know martinez ducked his mandatory bc he felt he couldnt beat him right?

these are just facts brother..sosa and marriaga were both undefeated guys..not given a chance but just as good as a vargas imo..much better than a shot rocky...

fortuna vs sosa is later this month and it will not be an easy for for the very good fortuna..

so rethink yourself when u say walters has done nothing..he just didnt get gifted a easy ttitle like lomo bc he is not promoted hard as lomo is by TR..

nick never said millions..arum did..nick just said 500k is not enough and that arum promised him more money right before he robbed him with taht draw..now nick is not comfy fighting for short money and risking a robbery..

it should have been about 750k each up front..no ifs in teh contract..then we an call it duck if neither guy takes it.

but walters is at disadvantage in all of this and it is not bc of nothing he done and arum said that... arum didnt punish lomo for losing..and he punished walters for winning..doesnt make since...arum is picking who to promote instead of letting the fight decide who is the best...

i think walters wins the head to head fight, but i think lomo is the maybe the better p4p fighters and would do better in higher divisions...but walters also has the chance to be good at other divisions im aking nothing away form him

bob should do his ppv thing for lomo walters i would buy it..it is the best fight with no need for any belt
