Not sure if you're referring to me here, but I'm fully in agreement with any fighter who chooses not to fight another fighter who's tested positive for a banned substance. In fact I think to do otherwise sets a terrible precedent.
But you can't be selective with what banned substances you consider to be ok in your books and which you don't. Lots of Eastern Euros don't even see the big deal with meldonium, the same as many American fans don't see the big deal about weed. Regardless of the performance enhancing aspects of either drug, the fact is that both are on the WADA banned substances list, and any fighter found to have either substance in their bloodstream is going to have to face the music.
Ordinarily I wouldn't even have much of a problem with Wilder's choice of opponent (aside from the fact that Arreola is garbage and doesn't deserve a shot in the first place). But the way Wilder got on his high horse after the Povetkin situation and refused point blank to fight him, for him to then choose another drug cheat as his next opponent smacks of rank hypocrisy and makes me question just how up for the Povetkin fight Wilder really was.
I hate feeling this way as I was really up for the Povetkin fight and predicted Wilder to do a number on him, but this whole situation is just a massive slap in the face for me as a fan.
