I would say he appears to have plateaued.

If you're visiting a sports psychologist at the age of 23 and considering moving down a weight class, those are red flags. He's starting to doubt himself early, and you have to wonder how he'll respond when he gets dragged into a war with a veteran fighter.

His last two performances have be really uninspiring, so he definitely needs to show and prove.

It looks like Verdejo might be Dulorme 2.0. Fast, flashy, young...and tonight may be the night where we'll see if he's got any heart. In these tough times on the island...we need a hero! This Mexican guy he's facing tonight looks slow and is very hit-able, and will go down, but he gets up, and man is he tough...I've seen some videos on him and he's a blood and guts-type warrior...he definitely has balls of steel...I just hope Verdejo won't need help from the ref, or the ring doctor to win this fight, or get a home-cooked decision....I mean he and Arum are promoting the fight and they are fighting on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade at the MSG...something tells me (esta pelea ya esta planchada) the fix is in...I just want the Mexican to make it a good fight, and see if this guy is for real

I have to disagree with you on your analysis of sport psychologists. In other combat sports, a sport psychologist is pretty much the standard for every fighter. You can go down the line of champions in MMA and you will see that every guy employs one. In boxing we tend to have old fashion believes when it comes to mindset and working out. This does not mean that it is not a red flag, it just means that it can also be a good thing and a sign of a fighter evolving and taking advantage of all his resources.

At the end of the day we will see tonight.

Dulorme was damaged goods and his heart really wasn't in the game, and a friend of mine in Santurce told me he owed him and others some money and had skipped town...so if we don't see him again or anytime soon, I can only wish him the best...

Seems like the hype has died down.

...can't hate him for being a momma's boy, but this guy better not quit tonight! This guy really needed a new corner before this fight, he got all this good ***** coming his way here on the island, chillin, everybody telling him how good he is, sleeping in silk pajamas...hell, what he really needs is discipline...or maybe a new heart! If he gets beat down tonight, he better not go back to "Cacolina."
