  • Why did Wladimir let Fury embarass him like that?

Why did Wladimir let Fury embarass him so much during the face off?

Wladimir: "I still have the youth. This time, I will let my hands go"
Fury: "Why didn't you do it last time?"
Wladimir: "Last time, I chose to lose. I didn't feel any punches. It was difficult"
Fury: "So you lost on purpose?"
    Wladimir: "..."
Fury: "Don't turn it into something it isn't, man, it's just a boxing match. We both come to win. But if I lose, I don't care, I still get paid"

Lol... In the end, even Fury felt sorry for Wladimir and started being nice to him. Wladimir must hate himself for that face off... He's a smart guy, but Fury looked like a genius in comparision here.

Even the interviewer told Wladimir that it seemed like Fury had gotten under his skin, to which Wladimir answered "no one gets under my skin, except my family", obviously being annoyed at the interviewer for stating the painfully obvious.

Fury just completely disarmed Wlad's tough guy act. I don't think Wlad is as smart as people make out.

The thing is, Wladimir IS very smart. But even smart people can seem dumb if nervous or disturbed. There was something wrong with Wladimir here, Fury had him completely paralyzed and tongue-tied.

Because, despite what you seem to believe, he's not a perfect human being. The mind is like the body in that you don't always realize what needs conditioning until the issue becomes a real problem (like a loss). He was showing serious hesitance against Jennings so it wasn't just a Fury thing, but Fury preyed upon it and made it worse.

If Wlad does it AGAIN, then a thread like this would be extremely relevant. Wlad KNOWS now that he needs mental conditioning and it became an issue when he suffered that loss. Were he to do it again, then you'd have to wonder why he would let it happen after having time to prepare. Until then, it's just 20/20 hindsight.

Fury makes all his opponents look ****** before their fights, so it's not a matter of Wladimir not being mentally prepared. It's more a matter of him, like everyone else, seeming totally confused and nervous when handling Fury socially.

I don't think you understand how it works. A guy doesn't get hesitant in the ring because someone insulted him. This isn't a schoolyard. These guys are pro fighters. Wlad was already getting gunshy and Tyson's movement is what caused the problems, not his insults, lol.

Why are you even talking about their last fight? Wladimir got this nervous, socially, AFTER their first fight. I'm talking about Fury making him scared, mentally, not about what goes on in the ring. And Wladimir just got mentally defeated by Fury in this face-off. Jennings didn't make Wladimir scared outside of the ring, Wladimir was just gunshy inside the ring.

Clearly Wlad takes himself very seriously and therefore is befuddled when Fury looks at him without an ounce of fear or hesitance.

Come on man, it was all about that money. They reached an agreement where instead of Wlad just stomping Fury out, he would actually let Fury win so they all could reap the benefits of a rematch. This time, people will see Wlad completely pick Fury apart, pizza face stoppage in 5 rounds or less.
