Mike coppinger- Spoke to Freddie Roach. Said Frankie Gomez agreed to 5 days off after Herrera win then back to gym. That would be May 13. Hasn't seen since.

Mike- Told it's looking more and more likely that there will be no tune-up for andreward on HBO. #boxing

Twitter talkboxing_ -The reason Vasquez and Peterson turned down the IBF eliminator vs Spence is because they might be fighting eachother, nothing confirmed tho

Gomez is probably painful to deal with if you have any vested interest in him. Guy has a desire to underachieve & halfass it.

And the writing was on the wall with Andre getting f#cked out of a 2nd fight on his HBO deal. I was hoping HBO would just f#cking play ball with him cuz if they wanna f#ck up the Kovalev fight this would likely be the first move in doing just that so I hope they realize what they are risking here. But obviously they probably got budget concerns as always these days so there hands are tied.

I don't hate a Sammy V vs Lamont P fight, but I'd still have preferred Lamont vs Errol. That woulda been a nice test for Errol & probably his most competitive fight easily. I do yawn at Danny vs Andre. And idek why Thurman & Porter care about Danny so much. Seems forced & I feel like Danny is just looking to cruise control his career away as much as possible so he's probably not even looking for that fight, but **** maybe he is & he'll surprise me. All I know is who cares about Danny vs Andre.

Info like that is better than most threads to me. Garcia sure gets the easy fights and the easy road to world titles. He won the vacant WBC title by beating Guerrero. Garcia deserved to fight for the vacant title but Guerrero didn't. Guerrero was about a number 25 world rated guy who had recently been easily beaten by Thurman. The WBC should have picked a much better welterweight to fight Garcia for the vacant title. KOing Ortiz doesn't turn Berto into a top contender. Is Garcia's dad going to let him fight the Porter-Thurman winner? Garcia hasn't fought a real dangerous fighter since Matthysse. There are worse fighters than Berto he could fight but Berto should be an easy win for him.
