Comments Thread For: Postol's Manager Confident of Another Shocker With Crawford

Vadim Kornilov, manager of WBC junior welterweight world champion Viktor Postol (28-0, 12KOs) of Ukraine, expects a very big upset when his fighter face WBO champion Terence Crawford (28-0, 20 KOs), a two-division world champion who has won four of his last five bouts by knockout, in a junior welterweight unification.

Could very well be. Postol is riding a confidence high going into the fight having spoiled Selcuck Aydin and Nattyice but Crawford I think is a step above both. Its too close to call for me, I wouldn't place a bet on this fight.

Matthyse the dwarf had his disadvantage. Postol got snapping pop combos but Crawfors has the better counter offensives. Curious of HBO passing to whom the torch will be passed on to if it goes 12

As a gambler, I am not going to bet against Postol. He is so awkward and unpredictable. My gut tells me to go Crawford, my wallet tells me to stay away.

Postol has been fortunate to have had his last 2 fights be higher profile... and vs shopworn fighters. Matthysse had just went tooth and nail with Provodnikov, and Aydin had been on a slide. He won't have that luxury with Crawford, plus he isn't as fast, not as big a puncher, or as good of a boxer. If Postol's manager is doing his job, he should be thinking about how to rebuild his fighter's career after the loss.

I'm slightly leaning toward Postol but he'll have to be extremely cautious. Crawford is far trickier than Matthysee and will drop him given the same openings that Lucas had.
I predict both will be cautious and Postol will take a decision by sticking and moving with the jab. Crawford is an exceptional talent but his typical approach is not going to work here. Postol is too rangey and slick for that.

I know what you're saying. When you have two equally talented guys, go with the more disciplined boxer. I have gone back and forth on it a bit but after rewatching them this week, I can't bet against Postol here. I actually think Crawford presents bigger problems for other fighters and may make it further in the sport but the style match-up is tough for him here. If I was to create a fighter to beat Crawford, he'd look a lot like Postol (who reminds me a bit of Ward).

Agreed. Postol already defeated me, and he presents complex problems to me. My buddies who also bet ask me, who would you choose? My answer? I don't know? I can list both guys with stat sheets, but Postol is so complicated. I am sitting that one out.

Very interesting fight, I flip flop on it regularly.

postol will need to take the first three rounds when bud is figuring him out, from there he should shock crawford and win a comfortable decision

Evidence of how this board has become pro white European.

Crawford will spank this boy mark my words.
