Well obviously Ronaldo and Messi would lead the rich list whilst FMJ is gone. They are the most recognisable people in the world and play for 2 of the most followed clubs after Man Utd. They will probably dominate the list for the next 5-6 years unless Anthony Joshua can reach FMJ levels.

Argentina doesn't suck at World Cups, Messi does. He was awful in the knockout stage in 2014. If I didn't know who he was, I would have never suspected he was the best or second best player in the world. That's how poor he was. But somehow, they gave him the Golden Ball (best World Cup player), which he clearly didn't deserve considering he hadn't even been the best player in his own team. I guess it made sense business wise.
Messi with Barcelona is out of this world, maybe the best player of all-time but Messi with Argentina is just good, despite being surrounded by world class players (Di Maria, Higuain, Mascherano, etc.). Why? Because they don't play like Barcelona at all, and Messi is out of his comfort zone.
Hence the question: would Messi still be Messi if he was playing for a different club?
