Did Floyd show a genuine relucantance..

To fight most of his main US rivals? All the other greats did..

-Mosley fought prime Oscar, Forrest, & Wright.

    -SRL fought Hearns & Hagler.

    -Oscar fought Hopkins & Mosley.

-Hopkins fought Wright, Joppy & Taylor.

-Jones fought Toney, Hopkins & Tarver.

    Floyd fought Judah.

I know he fought Mosley & Oscar but they needed a piss bag by this point due to incontinence! Floyd is almost the Chad Dawson of WW's in this respect! Tim Bradley? Paul Williams? Keith Thurman? Why not?!

I won't say this is an irrational or nonsensical thread. I shouldn't have to. It should be obvious. So, I won't say it.

Hagler was getting haggard by that point. That fight will always have an asterisk for me.

Leonard waited for Hagler to get passed his prime and still lost in the eyes of many people.

Hopkins was 39 when Oscar fought him, most people would argue that is passed prime. And Hopkins went on to lose to Jermaine Taylor twice the following year.

We can pick apart other peoples resumes just as easily. Floyd fought plenty of prime guys. It's just that many of them were not seen as special talents even though they all won world titles. Maidana, Castillo, Guerrero, Hatton were all prime world champions when Floyd fought them but none of them were stand out talents.

That's funny, I seem to remember most people saying Floyd would NEVER fight Mosley when Mosley had KO'd Margarito and jumped into the ring in during Floyd's interview after the JMM fight. Go back on this forum and look. Just remind me...who did Floyd then fight in his next fight?...

Also, let's not act like Hopkins was considered a serious threat or rival to Jones back in 1993. He was basically just seen as a decent opponent then.

Also, why are we missing off Diego Corrales off the list, wasn't he expected to hand Floyd his first defeat in the eyes of many people? How did that one turn out...

I'm not even a big Floyd fan but if you're going to try to make a case, you can't be selective and pick and choose what you want to include.

Hindsight is a great thing but there's been many times people have expected Floyd not to fight certain people or for certain fighters to give him serious problems. If you believed this forum, then Floyd would have NEVER fought Mosley, Pacquiao, Cotto, Canelo etc. in a million years. Once the fight gets make, the pre-cooked excuses start getting rolled out.

Come on now.. Corrales? Latino fighter tailor made for a slick boxer like Floyd..

Bradley & Williams were probably his two main prime US rivals really. When I say reluctance to fight his US rivals.. I should be more specific. The slicker & more athletic kind. Once he went black (Judah) he barely went back!

                    bwahahahahahahahaha

A gennady gargler talking about somone's competition level.

By the time Floyd was 25 he had a better resume than GGG has.... after 35 fights and ten plus years as a pro....pretty damn pathetic
