Golovkin already had a contract with Canelo, Cotto and the WBC, which covered the same time span as the one Roc asked him to sign. They were asking GGG to commit to fighting Ward in spring/summer of 2016, which was exactly when Golovkin expected to be fighting the winner of Cotto/Canelo for the WBC MW title.

Ward and Cotto have the same promoter, and when I read about the contract they sent to Loeffler, it made me wonder if it was part of some plan they were setting up to protect Cotto from GGG, if Miguel had beaten Canelo.
K2 didn't have a CONTRACT to fight the winner of Cotto vs. Canelo. What they had was a guarantee from the WBC that the winner had 15 days to negotiate a fight with GGG, or be stripped of the title, which eventually came to pass. Again, I don't blame GGG for choosing that route. That was a BUSINESS DECISION. Choose to fight Ward after Lemieux, or HOPE that you get to fight the winner of Cotto vs. Canelo. K2 didn't get what they HOPED for. Canelo vacated the belt, and K2 missed the boat for a mega-fight. Had K2 had an actually CONTRACT with Canelo or Cotto, they would be in a legal battle for breach of contract. However all they had was HOPE.

I'm a GGG fan, but too many triple G apologists on this forum. I think Bread called it perfectly, Ward is P4P possibly the best fighter so fair enough his team want an advantage, meeting in between the weights.

Not something he should be sorry for as Ward had already brought Dawson down to his. It is just the way it's done sometimes to get two champions from different weights to fight. Not the same as a guy in your own division pulling you down...

It was also a question right now! Someone just asked you! And you ducked it using the phoney time excuse. You also ducked the Paulie Malignaggi comment because you have to deal with him in real life. That's at least understandable but you should be real about it instead of pretending that being pressed for time is the reason you had plenty of time to answer every non-controversial question, but magically didn't have time to answer all the interesting ones.

We expect better from you Bread. You're supposed to be a breath of fresh air, not playing the political game like everyone else.
So you're in your feelings because he didn't crap on black fighters or Paulie the way you wanted him to I bet you really hated when he pointed out black fighters have a harder route up as well.

The 20 year comment was about who was on what not some pay off where Floyd had no way possible of proving Manny was dirty because Manny never took tests until Marquez starched him (notice he didn't fight punchers after that either).

Eg, he gives Golovkin respect and says he doesn't blame him for wanting a catchweight for Ward, because Ward is better than Froch and Chavez. But he ignores the real reason behind it ... Froch and Chavez were genuine cash cows. Ward has fewer fans than Golovkin but wanted 50% of the purse. K2 wanted him to concede something to GGG in return.
Is Zurdo a cash cow as well, because he's willing to do the whole 168 for that one too. Matter of fact he's all of sudden back on his 154-168 trip, wonder why....

Oh yeah you would think that with all of these extra fans ggg has more than 97K would've bought his ppv

How the hell were they expecting Canelo to fight him in Spring/Summer when Canelo fought Khan in May. This "contract" seemed to allow the winner one more defense before the big fight so why wouldn't GGG fight the winner after fighting Ward in Early 2016?

Hell early 2016 fight with Ward would've allowed for a fight in Spring/Summer with the winner of cotto/canelo so essentially ggg could've fought both Ward AND Canelo this year, but ducklovkin rather put his suit and tie on instead of his gloves.

I wish race or nationality wouldn't have to come in this discussion, but it seems that many (not all) GGG fans believe that if anyone is a Ward fan, they're anti-GGG. Or if you're an American, you are incapable of objectivity in assessing Ward's skills vs. GGG skills, or Ward's resume vs. GGG's resume. It sounds a lot like Trump saying an American Federal Judge is incapable of rendering judgment in a fraud case vs. Trump, based solely on his Mexican ancestry! All Bread is pointing out is that K2 made business decisions, and were willing to demand concessions from Ward, that they would not demand from Froch or Chavez Jr. (both inferior fighters to Ward) because of the financial benefits of those fighters. That just means GGG is "business man," and has no right to criticize others who may demand concessions from GGG, just like he would do to Ward. Canelo is the clear A-side, he has vacated the belt. What's next? 155 for a mega-fight, or 160 for Billy Joe Saunders?

There is only one problem with your GGG vs Ward statements....they are not based on fact.....actually Ward who is only talking through his hat....Ward called out GGG one hour after it was announced that GGG had a contract to fight Lemieux.....this can be checked out for a fact......second of all GGG's team had been trying to come to an agreement for two years with Ward....the problem was first Ward was in trouble with law suits with Goossen...they were suing each other....Goosen won the lawsuit three times.....then Ward signed with Roc Nation....the first thing Roc Nation said was that Ward needed two tune up fights before they would let Ward fight GGG...then Ward fought one fight at 172 pounds....GGG and his team got tired of waiting for Andre Ward to make up his mind what he wanted to do...then look at the numbers....Ward fought in his own home town and he could not put 4000 people in the arena....Ward fought at the Citizens centre and there were only 3000 people....every single word I have put here can be checked out by anybody simply by looking at the transcripts....and if that is not enough for you then here is a video by Tom Loeffler.....either Loeffler is lying or Ward is lying....only problem with that is that the transcripts will back up Loeffler and not Ward....http://www.fighthype.com/news/article23436.html?

Where are you getting this 155 from? Canelos folks never made any offer, they don't want Ggg at any weight. Imaginary offers don't count, ******. Neither do opinion pieces from elsewhere, I know you're reaching for one right now lol
