Comments Thread For: Muhammad Ali's Doctor Doubts Boxing Caused Ali's Parkinson's

Muhammad Ali and his family never seriously considered donating the boxing great's brain for research, according to the doctor who treated him. "Not really," was Dr. Abe Lieberman's answer when he was asked Monday if submitting the brain for research was discussed.

This is the same bs as the NFL claiming they didn't damage their brains playing. If that's the case, why are so many ex and even current fighters slurring their words. Maybe it didn't cause his Parkinsons, but had they analyzed his brain, or maybe the family will let them, we'll see.

Kinda makes sense though if you think about it. There's been hundreds of thousands of pro boxers throughout the century, many of them sustained more punishment in their career than Ali did, more blows to the head. I'm not a Parkinson's Disease expert by any means, but I once thought to myself, if Ali got that from boxing, how come more boxers don't have it? I think it's a valid question to ask. And how about non-athletes, just regular people who have it, how did they get it? I mean I know there's strong links between ******* use and Parkinson's Disease, but I highly doubt everyone who has/had this disease used *******

I never really knew why one would just assume Ali developed Parkinson because of boxing. It could be he was destined to have Parkinson no matter what.

Think of the thousands who have Parkinson and never fought a day in their life and then think of the thousands of boxers who have fought and still fight. 99% of them don't develop Parkinson.

It's just a theory but one that never was proven.

many americans have Parkinsons and have suffered a lot

Clay/Ali was no American hero and Clay was a bigoted man who actually hated America as a country. Not sure what the big deal about Clay is being made as the guy wouldn't defend his country when asked. The non American Clay should be treated not as a hero but as a good boxer who entertained the fans. But all in all Clay hated white people and for what America stood for. Clays religion hates also. Ignore the attention and honor those true American heroes who fought for and died for our Country. Those are the real heroes not big mouthed Clay.

From the interviews from the late 70's Ali is punch drunk. Just because some boxers don't get punch drunk it has know baring on what happens to others Brains. Boxing 100% contributed in some way to Ali's condition. If you think it didn't you are a moron.

Stfu already. You hate Ali, we get it. Stop spreading your hate towards a man who stood for something more important than your overly patriotic self
