The desire to fight, only a few have it

What makes a boxer? a fighter? someone who will keep going forward thru pain when the normal person will run, quit and surrender? Only a certain few can even get thru a round of sparring before snatching off the head gear and going home. A fighter is a rare breed, what keeps them coming back and wanting more? begging for more punishment and pain? Even the best defensive fighters get hit with 2 out of 10 punches and even one punch can end your night or even your life.

Most people exaggerate the pain, fighters pretend the pain is not present and are trained to push through broken jaws, swollen eyes and even losing teeth. A fighter is born and not taught as you can not teach heart, biting down when things are not going your way and finding a way to overcome adversity. Boxing is a lonely sport as you are in it alone and there is no one to come in and take your place when things get tough.

You can look in a persons eye and tell they are a fighter, they react and see things differently, the confidence they exude is of a person who knows that no matter what they are in control. Boxing is a lifestyle and only reserved for a select few,#respect

Where did you steal that poem from.

My memory sucks but I swear I've read that same poem before. Where did you find it at?

We just went through a era of boxing that made one man wealthier than any other boxer in history without having any desire to fight .

So you are going to tell me Floyd made it to the top without having to fight? He came up as a child, went thru the entire amateur system, Olympics and 20 years as a pro and didnt have to fight or earn anything?? are you serious?

Now i know you are an alt, troll or either someone who knows 0 about the sport but damn. How can you disrespect the sport like that and keep a straight face?? does defense not take any effort? is it that easy to avoid shots in a ring? if so why cant everyone do it?

It all comes down to what you like and if you have the passion for it. Some people are into boxing others like football, soccer, tennis, gymnastics, track and field...etc

It also depends on where and how you grow up. There are many people that could've become great boxers, tennis players or whatever if they had been introduced to the sport when they were growing up.

I think it's from Rocky Balboa (2006). Very touching...it moved my bowels.
