Cleverly wouldn't need another "proof of resistance" after Kovalev... Browne and Kalajdzic are far too young and green...

Stevenson was ruled out for the moment by Yvon Michel... and Kovalev and Ward can't be made by Al Haymon (for different reasons, of course).

If Kovalev gets past Ward it will set up a match-up against Beterbiev. And I doubt Kovalev would have a problem going to Canada for the match-up.
The real question would be on what network and will they be able to work something out?

I would like to see Beterbiev get a good name or two before a fight against Kovalev.

Agreed. Betterbeaver isn't really known at all outside of hardcore fans and hometown fanboys. I highly doubt he's ready for Kovalev just yet, he's only had like what? 10 pro fights?

I think it would be a blast for as long as it lasted.. but I kinda see it going similar to GGG-Lemule. Kovalev will fight smart, he knows Artur has power. He's good at range, good jab, nice setups, etc.

They're not ethnic Russians and not even Slavs. That's a typical kind of look and facial features for ethnicities from Caucasus mountains (like Chechens, Dagestanis,Ossetians, etc) and most of them have Turkic or Persian roots. I mean, their look is so distinct, you can easily spot these people among ethnic Russians like Kovalev. That's why Beterbiev and Gassiev looks similar. You can look up Rustam Khabilov as an another example of that

On a side note, I remember that Amar Suloev who was a UFC Armenian/Yazidi fighter from the same area, Caucasus mountains, turned out to be an enforcer and contract killer for some businessman from Southern Russia and Rustam Khabilov was shot 8 times in Dagestan. Not to mention that Shamhalaev, who's another UFC fighter from that area got shot 5 times recently while he was carrying assault rifle. The fighting kind of sports and crime in Russia always seems to be related to each other.

If I met either one for the first time and they told me I owed them $5 I would give them $10 just to be safe
