Honestly, I think most true boxing fans of Latino and African American (decent or ethnicity) would agree, a guy like GGG is GREAT for the sport of boxing. He knocks people out, hes undefeated, he wants to unify a division, he is promoted by a neutral promoter, strong amateur background, trains like a beast, and he has skill. What I think most of us "**********" can agree on is although GGG himself isn't a racist there is a perceived sense of racism amongst his fans which bothers the hell out of me at least. I can't help but notice how GGG fans love for GGG to beat up "the athletic black guy" or to punk "the Mexican Warrior" like there has never been an athletic black dude that would school ggg or a Mexican that wouldn't want to fight him. Canelo doesn't define Mexico or Mexican boxing and Dominic Wade & Willie Monroe dont define what great AA fighters have done in the MW division distant and current past. Sure GGG is a hot commodity right now and he maybe for a while but 2 discredit ethnic legacies in boxing of 2 ethnic groups that helped mold the sport because of 1 man is farfetched in fact is downright cowardly. And thats what most GGG fans on this site at least do. Its no different than posters wanting a MMArtist to beat up Floyd Mayweather. Personally I picture GGG fans like the nerds that were beat up in HS that finally found a cornfed dude to finally stand up to the bully and take it as their victory. And the funny thing is, GGG is part Korean. Its no wonder theres the phrase in boxing "the great white hope" for the reasons I stated. Lastly, the whole "Mexican style" is very patronizing. He does little or nothing for Raza by stating that BS, I wish an old Brown Beret would slap Abel Sanchez for that crap...Comment

It's called Latin America because that region was largely held by the Spanish and Portuguese. Hence, people from the Iberian peninsula as well as from former colonies of those nations are commonly referred to as Hispanic. Whereas people from the former colonies in the Americas are referred to as Latino because they're from Latin America.Comment
