I'll put it like this. The difference in Wards weight minus GGG weight (in 2015) is 8 lbs. Golovkin asked Ward to drop 50% of this difference. Thw difference is Golovkin weight minus Canelo weight is 5lbs. Canelo asked Golovkin to drop100% of the difference. Donyou see it now?

What about Pipino Cuevas? Wilfred Benitez? Both were shot by 25. You can make individual excuses for each fighter I name but it's ridiculous to objectively state that boxers peak at a certain age.



Was Golovkin lineal champion in either of those divisions? Was he fighting within the weight boundaries of those divisions while saying that? Thought so...



What about Sergio Martinez? Taylor did lose it in one fight but he was still somebody who peaked early. Tyson's prime ended when he lost for the first time (before he went to prison) - he was just worse after he came back. There are many, many more fighters who weren't at their peak at 27/28(Benitez & Cuevas are just two more example). My point stands.

No.....It doesn't. The point that certain fighters have there primes beaten out of them stands. Look at any other sport and it's clear to see the prime is 26-28

the guy asking for the CW wont hurt his body, the one doing the CW will, if both fighters drop about 5lbs then both can get equally hurted... again your technicism wont help the body of either fighter... for me cws are wrong if titles are on the line... but ggg willing to go 168 for others and not for ward and then 154 for others and not for canelo, and then claim no one wants to fight him is what irritates most people... i can understand when he was the mandatory 160 or no fight, but that is no longer the case, we will see how all this drama ends...

There is a big difference between164 and 155. 164 is halfway between 160 and 168. 155 is JMW plus1 lb. That would be the same as Gennady wanting Ward at 161. Even though Canelo has vacated the WBC belt, he is recognized as the Ring and Lineal MW champ. Golovkin is not nor ever has been recognized as a 168 champ. Golovkin has never fought at 168. The situation would be the same as if GGG won a belt at 168 then demanded all challengers weigh 161. Also, therebis a difference between GGG offering to come down to 154 to fight a 154 champ, and Canelo, a 160 champ, demanding155.

Ward clearly cannot make 164, and Team Bull**** were well aware of that so they priced themselves out on the weight.
