You did, to be fair. It's also bull**** though - what about swimmers?

Incidentally the average age of the ESPN top 10 p4p is 31.

We're really going around in circles here but he's the lineal champion in the division. His biggest asset as a fighter is that he can make 155 and use his size to beat on smaller fighters. He'll more than likely be exposed at 160 and beyond. It doesn't mean he's not a good fighter but he's just been managed exceptionally well. We've already seen that he can't dominate fights without a size advantage against good opponents.

As far as your 'double standard', I would agree if Gokovkin were a SMW champ fighting at 161 and demanding challengers fight at 161. But thats not the case. He made an offer to fight a champ in a higher weight class right in the middle. Frankly, the double standard I see comes from Canelo and/or Ward fans. They expect a champ to go down 5lbs for a champ in the same division, but don't expect a champ to go down 4 lbs for a champ from a lower division. That, to me, is a double standard.
Again, it was Lil G that said anyone @ 168 not Ward but when Ward called him bluff he throws that BS catchweight. why is it alright for Chavez Jr and Zurdo to come in at 168 and Froch at 172 but Ward needs to come in at 164? It's not Ward has accomplish more than any of those guys why should he come down in weight but lil G won't for Canelo?

That's the thing man you can say the same thing about Lil G. his best win is against Martin"Pillow fists"Murray. Lofler will never put him in with a slick boxer such as Lara because their scare of him losing his ko streak I mean he saying no body wants to fight him but you got Lara saying he'll go to 160 just for him and they ain't say ****. But Chavez Jr says he wants it and now they can't stop talking about how good of a fight that would be, Chavez Jr a bum nobody gives the dude a chance he's garbage lil g needs to step up his competition

If he is a JMW why doesn't he make 154? The answer must be because he can't or because he feels bad after making 154. If he feels "bad" at making 154 then you'd have to assume that he doesn't exactly feel "great" making 155 - probably just "less bad".

You may be right about those fighters at SMW. I love Golovkin's style - breath of fresh air - but the hype is unreal. If he could go up and beat 2 out of those 4 then his record would start to catch up with the hype. At this point in time I'd say Jack would be the easier fight, Anthony Dirrell next easiest and DG and Andre toughest. There is no chance either Dirrell gets to fight GGG unless they can win back a title - huge risk and pitiful reward. A Ward fight will get made before either of them get a GGG fight.
I see Ramirez as a tough fight - his height and reach advantage is significant. He made the AA fight look easy.
I agree with the most of the second paragraph except Jack being the easiest. Its something about that guy right about now where he looks technically better in each fight and has that Danny Garcia, find a way to win despite minimal natural gifts thing about him.

As far as canelo goes, i take him at he and his team's word for the time being. If he starts missing weight or is too sluggish, I'll reconsider.

That doesnt address anything I said and puts us full circle back to talking about Froch and Chavez. We have established that Ward uas actually fought at 160, during the same time that Gennady was. Golovkin has never fought at 168. I dont care that GGG offered Froch and Chavez fights at 168, 172, or any other weight. Just like I dont care that Ward offered to fight 'lil Floyd' at 160. I dont care about that. We're talking about Andre and Gennady. Gennady said I'll fight you this fall (2015) at a weight even in the middle. Ward said I'll fight you next year at my weight. Is this fair or equitable?

Look GGG would not be getting all the heat he's getting from folks if it wasn't for abel's siht talking . IMO
Boxer's and their trainers come out with all manner of statements to get themselves some publicity. EG, Andre Ward and Virgil Hunter famously declared that Andre was going to be HW champ by the time he was 32 and would beat both Klit brothers if he decided to move up and challenge them.

All Abel said was that he thought GGG would beat anybody at 160 and 168. He didn't say that GGG would fight anybody at 160 or 168, whenever they wanted it, at whatever weight they wanted, and for a 50/50 purse split.

There's no excuse or reason for the hypocritical garbage that Fortune is talking here.

                • Would love to hear Fortune's opinion of Marvin Hagler, who spent his entire career at middleweight. Also Bernard Hopkins at middleweight for 13 years, only moved up when he could no longer make weight. All these *******s need to stfu and stop trying to turn boxing into a soap opera.

                    • why do people not talk about canelo not revealing his fight night weight??? isnt that the most telling indication that hes dodging triple G. He knows he comes in heavier than triple G so he busted a mayweather and hid his official weight for his last fight with Khan. Disgusting...
