Especially if Canelo isn't gonna happen anytime soon.
If Ward v Kov happened today, it wouldn't sell extremely well. But it's seen as a better fight, so it should do better.

And yes, if Ward wins and GGG reaches his goal, it really would change the dynamic. It would be a major event, do really well, and means something.

Although if Ward loses to Kovalev, or to GGG, I suspect the haters question f he's the same fighter--a valid question, considering he's looking a bit flat footed.

I could understand that "I'm too small for GGG", it's a fact.

GGG came in the ring at 168.9 vs Lemieux, Nelo last known datas are 171,174 vs Angulo and Lara.

      Where is the size mismatch??
Don't forget that Canelo refused to be weighed on the Khan fight day.. But people were speculating that he could be well around 175-180 lbs.. But he looked much much heavier in comparison to Khan who himself was around 161-165 on fight day..

How am I grasping at straws? You said that it's a "known fact that boxers peak at 27 or 28" and I named several who peaked before and after. Maybe most boxers peak in their late 20s or early 30s but using that phrase is ridiculous. And you can't say Canelo is a perfect example of that before he's turned that age - for all you know he fights GGG and has his prime beaten out of him like Taylor against Chavez.

Haha, I think you've just ended the argument.

So now that the talk of primes is gone out the window it's moved on to star power? If you think Canelo is that good would you not want to see him against the best?

Well ggg is the same height as Marvelous Marvin Hagler, nobody ever asked him to move up. So NO ggg is not fighting smaller guys as the average middleweight contender is taller than 5 foot 10

GGG look up for big fight/Ward look down

            Future is dumb as ****.

Anyone who names Ward as GGG opponent because GGG needs to not fight smaller guys looks complete hypocritical. Would Ward be fighting a guy two divisions below him, much smaller.

Didn't Canelo (who is every bit a ****ing MW) just fight a glass jawed WW for three MW titles.

GGG trying to fight the guy ranked 1# MW by both ESPN and Ring Mag doesn't make sense because Canelo is small? But Ward, a guy who competes at LHW, did so in Amatuers, fighting a guy two divisions below him does?

            Riiiiiight! OK! HATE MUCH!

Canelo is heavier than GGG on fight night. We have weight classes, not hieght or width class. We don't classify fighters by how far they can reach. We do by weight. As soon as Canelo stopped making 154, he was a 160 pounder.

He just chooses to fight nothing but guys from classes below him.

So Canelo is a bum? Everyone else on the list he named GGG is aiming to fight.

Canelo is rated top MW for 1# and Ring Mag.

It's asinine to say he's fighting smaller guys, but then say he should fight bigger guys, who would then be fighting smaller guys themselves.

Ward not to recently moved up to lhw Dumbfk... but he's not a true lhw. If he says he can fight at 168 then what's the fckn problem? Oh I know, you just don't wanna see the tomato fighting prick get exposed.

Yes REAL boxing fan wanted to see it but overseas and in Britain nobody knows who Andre Ward is and the majority of people in the States don't even know who he is.

Actually Ward has fought at 160 and was doing so professionally at the same time Golovkin was in 2006.
