Every generation learns from the previous generation. Floyd and oscar learned how much money arum was making off them and wanted a fair slice of the pie. There are a lot of old fighters are in the gyms teaching younger fighters. And most of them preach getting paid and having enough money to retire on and take care of your family. Far too many ex fighters are dependant on caregivers for every day activities. Too many are in nursing homes. Far too many are flat broke. The only fighters that really speak about legacy are ones that are set financially. Real fighters fight to make a better life fot them and their families.

UFC has the rights to even speak about this? Is White getting a 1% privilege margin to let Connor fight in a boxing match?Comment

Never said money wasn't important. Everyone knows in life it is, But excess money is what your referring too.Every single fighter I know/knew fought to take care of themselves or their respective families. In all my years I have never heard a fighter say, it's ok keep the money I just want to fight. Any fight game is brutal. Those you think are garbage fighters will kill you if you get caught sleeping. Also do you really think flawed/protected connor will have a long career. He just got his clock cleaned by a man with a 2 week notice. Your hate for floyd is palpable. If connor has half the career of floyd he has done really good.
As I said, Conor can feed his family with what his earning without having troubles. His career in UFC as a fighter and so on as he builds his career is enough to keep his family fed.
Having to fight in a circus show vs fighting for the sport that made him who he is today. Trumps all that. He won't be humiliated in a circus show and then have to run off to the sunset with one huge payday since he dissed Dana. I truly believe he is a true fighter. An old school fighter who thinks of money as 2nd priority to his 1st priority which is fighting for the glory and fame of the adoring fans of the UFC. He will go back to where he is great, which is MMA. To do that, he needs DANA.
SO MY POINT AS I HAVE MENTIONED. In order for Floyd to fight Conor he has to come knocking on Dana white's door. ( this is the essence of the thread which you seem to have lost )
Case closed.
# he has more than enough earnings in the UFC, plus the endorsement that comes from being great in his own sport.
# you are being foolish to even believe Conor is starving. He is not.
# long term, love for the game trumps all, coz if you have the love for the game money will flow. You don't need no circus show.Last edited by Spoon23; 06-02-2016, 09:42 PM.Comment

Lol I remember! The funny thing is, conor is just a poor knock off of floyd. He uses the same tactics floyd used. But connor gets praised while floyd was killing the sport of boxing. Lol connor is not GSP or bones jones. Connor has fatal flaws, that were exposed by his last opponent. And when connor couldn't hurt diaz he ga e up and got choked out by a rear naked choke hold. Connor has been using floyds name for quite some time. So yes I would love to see him put up or shut up.Comment

Just because you say case closed don't make it true. You think your word is law lol. You speak like you Connor accountant. You sound ******, "I truly believe he's a true fighter ". Wth is a "true fighter". This guy has quit like 3or 4 times already and you have the nerve to diss a legend boxer. If you u like Connor and ufc so much, why you always here trollingNever said money wasn't important. Everyone knows in life it is, But excess money is what your referring too.

Spoon you can't show me in my post where I said connor was starving or poor. I never said that. Also I said all along ANY fight plan involving connor has to go through dana white as he owns connor. Were me and you disagree on is why fighters fight. As a former fighter (not going to lie, I was not the best) I spent a ton of time with champions and cubs. Everyone started fighting as a way to escape a particular situation. After they made decent money were they concerned about legacy. And make no mistake about it dana white wants this fight to happen as he will make ten truck loads of money off of it. You keep talking about a circus what are you referring to?Comment

Also I will never buy into if you love the game the money will flow. There are just too many penniless fighters that did love the game but were not swift enough to monitor the financial end. So many fighters today have benefited from floyd being so concerned about the money end. Now fighters are being adequately compensated for risking their lives. I love it.Comment
