Canelo and his team have been saying for years that he's actually a 154 fighter but he's comfortable fighting at 155. The last time he tried to make 154 he couldn't. People will say it's only one lb so it doesn't make a difference but on the same hand say Floyd drained him by making him drop 1 1/2 lbs. If Canelo goes to 154 he's making himself uncomfortable according to him and his team, just to avoid fighting GGG. This is sad and people keep making excuses for him.
If Canelo actually fights at 154..

Yeah he's made it pretty evident that he can make that weight class by fighting above it for the last 3 years...Comment

Saul Alvarez said he wasn't a middleweight, his trainer has said that he's not a middleweight, he's had his last 4 fights at 155, yet the moment that he fight in the division where he and his camp have consistently said was his division, you want to talk of avoiding someone? gtfoh.
Gennady Golovkin has stood by, smiling, while Abel Sanchez ran his mouth about whooping every fighter 154-168, yet he's managed to not only avoid tough fighters at both 154 and 168, without any blowback. lol
Rather than fight Alvarez at 155, Golovkin is going to miss out on that fight, will likely miss out on fighting Billy Joe Saunders, and will hope against hope that Daniel Jacobs gets locked into an opponent for July 30th, so that they can trot out Jorge Sebastian Heiland and having the boxing media continue to push their "no one wants to fight Golovkin" bull****.Comment

Canelo will be bashed as being a ***** but at least he will be fighting in a real weight division and as long as we get Canelo v Charlos/Andrade, I'm up for it.Comment

It's so hypocritical. People **** on GGG for not moving up above his natural weight class and defend Canelo for fighting below his natural weight class.Comment

GGG isn't big enough name for him you can only wonder who he will fight next maybe people will pay to see him box himself.
He won't make 154lbs If he does he will be damaging himself I also think Andrade would beat him comfortably.Comment

Stephen Edwards has a theory that b/c of his short stature and mediocre footwork, that Canelo has steered clear of the talented fighters like Andrade & Jermell Charlo who are long and tall.
If Andrade beats Nelson & Charlo, I can't see why Andrade/Alvarez wouldn't become a top priority fight to make. Could Alvarez land enough on Andrade to get the win?
I think J-Rock beats Jermall, and J-Rock/Alvarez would be a hell of a fight, but that J-Rock might be willing to stand in front of Alvarez a little too much and maybe gets broken down late.Comment

he made 155
and yes, we shoud "hate on him" for it. it's pathetic, and the reason why boxing isn't really a sport.Comment

"GGG isn't a big enough name."
it's the biggest fight in boxing
not a big enough name doe!
and yeah, andrade would probably beat canelo at 154. lara, too. i think he beats both at 160. he's not a bad fighter, he just kills himself to make 155 so he doesn't have to fight a great fighter in gennady golovkin. another 16 oz of water and he's going to need a chair at the weigh in again [canelo sat on a chair on stage when he weighed in for floyd mayweather.]Comment
