lol man you're setting yourself up big time with all this talk about Vargas beating Brook...

And I'm almost certain the winner of Thurman vs Porter will fight Danny, they've both been firing shots at him and calling him out for a while now

Brook beat Porter but hasn't done anything since ,Khan is no1 WBC after just being knocked cold and having never fought any of the top ten.
Mayweather talks about coming back which will probably stall the division for another year.

What once looked like a great division has offered nothing Thurman v Porter is a start but none of them have done enough to call themselves top dog....
If Porter beats Thurman fans will say Thurman wasn't that good, if Thurman beats Porter fans will say Porter had already lost.

In some ways these contenders feel like they are veterans and have been around for ages without really doing much .....all frustrating !
It is frustrating that these guys haven't fought each other for so long now and they all are belt holders.. There is clearly no #1 by resume and skills but only by consensus and opinions..
Hopefully by 2017 end we would have a unified WW to look up to..

Its gonna happen man. #Warvargas & no Thurman vs Porter winner is fighting Avanesyan & Garcia is fighting Berto. Lamont Peterson & Adrien Broner will get the winners of those. Haymens a yes man. He gives his fighters what they want and thats a title & a payday (some get more than others), his gift to the fans is boxing on free t.v. other than that he dont care about the sport of boxing. If anything PBC has made it harder to get 1 champ no matter how anyone spins it its the truth.

Didn't short Port lose to Kell Brook in the USA?

Short Port might want to beat Kell Brook and get that title belt before bragging much about being great at 147lbs. Short Port might not have much claim to anything without beating Kell first. Plus Thurman just might stop short Port in their fight ending it all for the little Munchkin Port.

Bradley is the #1 WW for sure..Thurman will hurt and possibly stop Porter as a matter of fact I consider shawn winning an upset and if so he'll still lose to Brook...Kell seems great but I must take a small slither of credit from him for 2 reasons; 1.he's huge for a WW as evident by his willingness or at least his claims of wanting to fight GGG/Canelo and #2 he's done nothing but beat Porter... Styles make fights though and I see the most exciting fight of all the welters being between Tim and Porter....

You're one of the dumbest posters on the site, consistently.

Thurman will obviously utilise movement, picking punches from distance, it's called hit and don't be hit last I checked. Porter's skills are shyt in comparison, he is nothing more than a crude brawler a la Maidana and Rios.

The skillset and durability shown by Thurman eclipses ten fold anything we have seen from Porter to date. Kell Brook, Amir Khan, Tim Bradley right now are all notably above Porter, a win over Thurman would leave him behind all three of these guys as Thurman hasn't proved himself on their level as of yet, most certainly on level parity with Brook for certain.

Garcia isn't doing much better. He fought Guerrero, coming off a Thurman and Martinez loss for a vacant WBC title, and is about to fight Andre Berto lol. Welterweight is severely overrated atm

i like porter. i think he is a good person and a good fighter. but i think thurman destroys him. thurman is a very intelligent boxer with huge punch. i feel porter being wild and reckless will walk into a big punch.

I would agree with this, but it would certainly make a Brook vs Porter rematch a fight that needs to be made.
