    In World Title Fights-
Pac at 53% (I didn't count his fights for International titles- only recognized "world" titles)
    Chavez at 68%

Julio clearly has him beat on knockouts.

Thanks buddy. I saw them both fight, I am getting old, but I guess these younger guys didn't watch him beat roger mayweather live on TV twice.

They grew up in the PAC era. Meaning everything is measured by their love for PAC, blind love for sure.

Thanks again for the detailed break down, it is much appreciated.

I watched them both as well. Paq had the better career and that doesnt really take away from Chavez.

Chavez Sr, and it's not even close

Chavez reached an epic 87-0 before his draw with Whitaker. On his way, he captured titles at 130, 135 and 140. He has more title wins than anyone else in boxing history(although they were for alphabet titles, but still in an era where 2 or 3 were recognized). He has wins over Roger Mayweather(twice), Rocky Lockridge, Edwin Rosario, Jose Luis Ramirez, Alberto Cortes, Meldtick Taylor(twice), John Duplessis, Angel Hernandez, Hector Camacho, Greg Haugen, Frankie Randall(twice), Tony Lopez and Joey Gamache.

Pacquiao won titles in eight divisions(in an era with four recognized titles). Still, it's a remarkable feat to move up so high from flyweight. I don't think any other flyweight champion has moved up so high successfully. He holds wins over Lehlo Ledwaba, Jorge Eliecer Julio, Marco Antonio Barrera(twice), Juan Manuel Marquez(twice), Erik Morales(twice), Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley, Timothy Bradley(twice) and Brandon Rios.

          Who had the better run?
Chavez Sr took his first defeat at the age of 32 (which he was able to immediately avenge), with the losses only started setting in when he was passed it (have yet to forgive Oscar for throttling JCC twice), and after he'd already established his resume.

Yes, it was De La Hoya's coming out party, but he had all of the advantages- height, reach, speed, youth and Chavez was so easy to cut by then. Returning to the well was pretty low down, but that's boxing.

Karma was sweet and deadly . Fishnets got his way with a smaller man only to get retired by another .

As great as Pacquiao is and as much as I admire him, I voted for Chavez. Chavez was a great champion who won his first 87 fights. If he had retired after win number 87 he would have established a record that might never be broken. The fact that he continued to fight on after win number 87 and lost fights doesn't make him less great.

                      Chavez is overrated

Pacquaio is a legit top 20 all time great

both were media darlings in an era that WANTED them or were PULLING for them to be the class of the era, when in fact the media had a lot to do with their perception as fighters. Neither were the best of their era or all time for that matter(their were rumblings of both being anywhere from 1-10 all time at the height of their fame)....Whitaker and Floyd weren't as beloved but were clearly better fighters.

Pac didnt need loses deleted from his early record, nor did ever get a flat out gift like Chavez vs Whitaker....Pacquaio clearly was neck and neck with JMM whereas Chavez got clearly beaten.

Pacquaio has the edge in almost all statistics except title defenses. head to head Manny would have stopped JCC.....thin skin and manny ****s faces up
