Totally agree with Bread on the 154lb. division! A tourney with Canelo and Cotto involved, would be brilliant for 2017! Let's get Ericksson Lubin some fights too!

Ugh, who was the d*ck wanting to "marinate" the Kov-Ward fight, DLH? This is the problem with boxing. The better match ups we see, the more fans will take interest in the sport, not the other way around.

I can see the point of a doubleheader before a big fight, or if there's an opportunity for both fighters to win titles and then unify, but Kov & Ward are two P4P supreme fighters in the same division who have struck whilst the fight could be made.

Don't think 154 is the best division at all. I see a lot more skills in 175. They have two monsters and a bunch of good boxers. 154 is just some good boxers.

I disagree with 154 being the most talented division in boxing. It's not even top 3, maybe it's top 5. I don't hate him for saying it. Obviously his fighter fights in that weight class so of course he's trying to hype up the division.
If he meant it's the most talented division with American fighters then I may agree.
Some people will say that it is. It's perception really. The divisions that get the most love are the divisions that are perceived to be the best divisions.
I've been saying for the longest that the Welterweight division has been overrated for years. People hate hearing that, but it is what it is. That division is the division that had the most air time, thus being perceived as the best division.
I've been saying for sometime that Spence would take care of the 147 pound division even before he fought Algieri, it won't be easy but he will do it. Not only is Spence talented, but he's one of the better fighters that had really good amateur success. Spence (4) is one of the most accomplished US amateur fighters since the 2004 Olympics. The only guys that rank higher are guys like Ward (2), Warren (5), Russell (3), Andrade (4), and Dirrell (2). Then someone like Jose Ramirez (3) is ranked below Spence in terms of amateur accomplishments. I think Spence actually won more or equal amount of Senior National titles than the guys I ranked ahead of him, with the exception of Warren (I included the national titles in parenthesis, I may be wrong on some of them), but they were able to medal at Major World Competition (Olympic, World Championships).
Yeah, amateur success doesn't always guarantee a good pro career, but 80-90% of the time it does.
Well, that was a huge breakdown as to why I figured Spence was going to take over the Welterweight division. He's one of the most accomplished amateur boxers to turn over around the division. Most of the top World amateurs don't go pro and it's one the reasons why I thought the Welterweight and Super Welterweights division are/were overrated, to go back to my original point.

Well, anyway a lot of rambling in that post.

126, 147, and 154 are the best weight divisions right now. 175 is up there too.

147 is so hyped it's not even funny any more. Only guy trying to fight other guys is porter and he's not even that good. Boxing skill wise I don't see them that good either. 154 is not looking that good either when everyone trying to get that canelo shot and three of the top 5 in that division won't even fight each other because of affiliate with one another.

126 would be great if rigo would move up but I hate rating those smaller division though. One thing that annoys me in boxing is the division at the lower weight class because they're separated by 3/4 lbs.

175 is the best division. Even old ass Hopkins I rate higher then most of 154 and 147 division.

I agree with you that the 154 division isn't the best in boxing. Maybe it's still recovering from when FMJ held belts he refused to defend. Or perhaps all the top guys are, for lack of a better term, avoiding each other for the reason of either milking their belt or hoping to hit the lottery against Cotto or Canelo. Guys like J-Rock give me hope, though. And Andrade is not too far away from challenging all of them since his inactivity.

I believe that 147 is at least top-3. And my reasoning behind this is that there's good talent there...and most of them want to fight each other to determine the top dawg...at least Thurman/Porter is a good start. I do agree that Spence will probably end up ruling the division. I do not, however, want him to be rushed up too fast...as a young contender, he should just keep climbing the ladder. The opportunities will come.

Yea, he sounded like a Ward fan trying to buy more time.

Ward knows whats up, leave it to him.

I didn't really see the point of addressing that e-mail, or the other one from the pacstain who wanted to blame Floyd for everything but the holocaust.
