Marciano was only a champion for four years, in that time he only defended 6 times. Floyd was a champion for 17 years and had over 20 title defenses.
One fought in one weight class while the other fought in five.

Marciano can't be greater. He wasn't a better amateur or a better pro.

Louis was never KTFO by Marquez like Manny was before fighting Floyd. Marciano never had to take banned IVS to give himself an advantage. Marciano never lost to Castillo and then get a gift decision. Marciano never used catchweights to drain opponents. Marciano never cheated midgets on the scale. Marciano never had 3 dirty tests hidden away. Marciano never "went on vacation" right when his division got hot.

Marciano fought in an era of blood and guts, knocked out fellow LEGENDS like Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe Walcott. Marciano left no doubt.
