  • Comments Thread For: Whyte Says Chisora Punked Out, Backed Down From Challenge

Dillian Whyte says his countryman, Dereck Chisora, only gets brave when the cameras are rolling before a sea of onlookers. During the recent Matchroom press conference to announce their addition of Whyte (16-1, 13KOs), Chisora (25-6, 17KOs) showed up unexpectedly and confronted him in a heated war of words.

Too bad, this really would have been a passing of a torch type fight. From one Chisora to another.

I wouldn't say Chisora is gatekeeper level

Nobody backed down from anything, both these guys are mostly talk when cameras are rolling. The question is who can back it up? Im going with Whyte based on Chisora seems to have even more of a insecurity issue than Whyte does.

Thugs at war! to prove who is the better thug!

Jokes aside, Whyte would KO Chisora out & the gatekeeper position will be up from grabs again..

I agree 100%, Chisora has good names on his resume & a "L" next to it.. He is a gatekeeper at best..

But definitely not a gatekeeper to be taken lightly. He still had some good moments against Pulev and landed some shots that would've knocked other HWs out. Apart from that, he can't keep riding on those performances against Helenius and Vitali from years ago.

Those days of him being a legit threat at HW are long gone, but he could still give a lot of trouble to inexperienced HWs. I'd like to see him against Hughie Fury, Whyte, or a Helenius rematch.

Whyte has beat nobody but a 40 year old washed up Brian Minto. He landed 1 good punch against AJ. Chisora has a lot of experience against top contenders & he beat a fringe contender in Malik Scott. He is exactly what a gatekeeper is. Derric Rossy is another. I think Chisora beats Whyte. Whyte was talking he backed out of a street fight not a boxing match they get paid for. What has that steroid cheat done in the ring to make anyone think he could beat Chisora? Beating Minto? Landing one shot? We know what Chisora brings. Whyte would be a big step down from who Chisora has fought. I doubt Whyte could beat Malik Scott...

                    This^^^^^

I honestly don't get the hype around Whyte outside of his mouth. Dude has done literally nothing in the ring worth mentioning unless you wanna glorify his Minto win. I will say I think he has a nice jab, but outside of that he's just another loudmouthed dude trying to talk his way into title fights
