Business. Joshua isn't even a Showtime star yet. He's not even making his Showtime debut til next month. And what if that does 317k in the ratings?

I suspect he'll do better numbers & probably break whatever record Lara & the Charlo's just broke for this year for Showtime, but you & I know how boxing works in 2016. They are gonna wanna build it up a lil more, gotta marinate it a lil bit at least. Need them to co-headline a card in Oct./Nov./Dec or do some fake ass "tournament" like they just did with DeGale & Jack.

And not saying I agree with it necessarily, but thats how the business works according to the powers that be. I do think Wilder vs Joshua happens next year with how things look right now (I do suspect there is a chance the Fury vs Klitschko winner will go for Wilder in late 2016/early 2017), but I'd be shocked if it happens within the first month or two.

Might as well just put Deontay Wilder vs John Doe on the promotion.

He's already fought in voluntary defenses of his WBC. Fight a name guy before Mr T takes your title like in Rocky 3 because Rocky pad his record with stiffs he's suppose to beat to hold onto the belt...

                Let's go champ....

The WBC's evaluation of Povetkin's positive drug test consists of one thing: how much money can they squeeze out of Povetkin's promoter in order to give Povetkin his mandatory shot at the title!

Povetkin's positive test doesnt justify Wilder fighting bums again.
For f*** sake he has not fought a decent fighter since his first fight.
He should at least have an initiative to seek good opponents.
And FYI, Povetkin is a mandatory. Wilder did not seek him.

Looking at the WBC top 15 I see 4 realistic options. Washington, Ruiz, Stiverne and Scott. Washington is a fellow Haymon guy that's coming off the draw with Mansour and the win over Chambers so it would be an easy set up and easy sell for them. Ruiz you can sell as undefeated, experienced but they also might see him as a bit dangerous. Stiverne you can sell the dehydration angle and the fact that he's the only guy Wilder hasn't ko'd. Scott is another PBC guy and he's buddy buddy with Wilder and he's coming off a win over Thompson. My gut tells me either Washington or Scott. Both coming off probably the best wins of their careers and neither are as dangerous as the other options imo.
